Please don't lie by omission. The Great Vault timegate is what people run m+ for. Which is doing a set number of m+ runs to enable the timegate weekly gear piece drop that is of the highest level. I've yet to hear of people running m+ primarily for the lower ilvl gear.

You are delusional if you think people run M+ for Vault unless. People run M+ all day just to get their BiS trinkets. Why would they want to rely on Vault rng if they can just spam the dungeon over and over? The vault is merely a bonus.

The timegate weekly Great Vault is the primary source of highest ilvl by design, this is the antithesis of what you just said. Do not conflate a once a week event that loot starves highest ilvl to drag out subscriptions with being a bonus event. All the trinkets you just mentioned show up in vault at a higher ilvl. The only reason they're farming m+ for trinkets at all is because they cannot wait for vault and they're tired of the rng loss of control it expresses. Even FFXIV tome timegate doesn't have that last issue. You at least have full control over your loot in FF14.

He doesnt want the m+ vault, that's his problem, he wants mythic level gear from every single m+ run, so that he can complain in about a week time that theres no content left for him to do and how "timegated" the game is while waiting for the next patch
