People really, really never get this. For the first few weeks Lost Ark was flooded with people yelling that XIV has no content etc.
Also the fact that me being a huge nerd of this game, went through an alt going through expansion's content patch by patch by using this handy wiki that nicely lists what got added https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Game_release in each releaseIt is irrelevant... you can compare the patches up to each step and see which expansion got the most and whatever.
Also it is important to point out not all content might suit you... however for most of us, we like most of it and some of it we dodge or just complete instead of ranting on the fora... you should switch the record, it seem to have gotten a crack in it, that or you may need to replace the needle on the pick-up.
So GaiusDrakon is technically wrong here...I HAVE played the game patch through patch, even with the minor QoL changes to certain pieces of content. His argument is invalid.
Yeah but too bad it wasnt a "fun" occupation. I got into Bozja during 5.5 so I knew I had everything available to me, but the entirety of the content that matters within it still took me about a week and half at best to complete (this includes doing the relic). And by then I saw a lot of people hating it for being grindy and boring. The problem here is that not all content is consumed equally. This is where the crux of some of the issues starts to appear when you look at Endwalker. e.g., there is a diverse amount of content, but in the long-term, it is not really content that will keep people consistently engaged.
Sure, you can get to rank 16 in IS, but then what? It's just another weekly task that with current resources is no more time-consuming than doing, say, Doman Reconstruction in Stormblood.
Comparing the patch history only really gives a surface analysis of the content.
I'm all for taking a dump on Eureka and Bozja and calling it a glorified FATE simulator - But regardless of this it still kept people occupied quite extensively. Did I enjoy it? Nah. But I still spent an obscene amount of hours doing it.
So now that EW decided to take a break from exploratory zones, all of sudden, people are whining that they miss it and get all nostalgic when it was literally just 3 years ago. I just find it super funny how quickly people's tone change and not in a good way.
I don't like that mentality of yours. It's basically telling people to shut the fuck up and just leave. But the reason a lot of people complain is because they care about the game. They spent a lot of time on the game, often several hundreds/thousands of hours. We complain because we see the game go in direction we don't like/see some flags that are worrysome. Sure there are some people that just complain to troll, the forum is the freaking far west and the sheriff has left the town. SE seem to have abandonned any will to moderate their forum. But if you're actually reading the threads, you'll see that those recuring criticism is not only said by those people. Espially criticism about patch 6.3 and 6.4 are shared by a lot of people. Hell, even in reddit, the website known to be an echo chamber where any opinion that's not the global concensus is downvoted to oblivion, you can find criticism about the story during the patches or about the relics/lack of proper long running content (which is strongly felt by people that have finished all the other content).I really don't understand your reasoning, are you just complaining for the sake of complaining or how is it going?
If I don't like a game, at best I stop playing it, tell the people I'm playing with that the game bores me and stop my sub.
Why are you keeping your subscription? You pay, you approve, as long as you remain in some sort of denial.
The game can't please everyone, even if it's GOTY for its year of release and its category. I don't see millions of gamers complaining that FFXIV sucks.
So the problem is that it doesn't meet your expectations, so go and have fun with another game, unless there's a problem like FFXIV 1.0, nothing will change.
Enjoy the game (your favourite of the moment).
It's not enough for them to ditch the whole game, but because they dare to give criticism, they should stop their sub and shut the fuck up because they don't agree a few things. Yes there is a problem with the trolls on this forum. But you can't dismiss all complains because of the trolls. Because in that case, you're the one in denial. Game is still overall good, but it has shown a lot of worrying points over the late patch, being the pacing, the axing of several storylines compared to previous extension, the lack of proper non capped long running content, etc. And I don't see why I should "shut the fuck up and cancel my sub". If you don't see it, that's good, maybe those are things that don't matter to you, but you can't just dismiss the whole a discourse which, without being the majority, is still strong enough.
I mean, quiting is the biggest feedback you can give if disatisfied. I quit all Blizzard products because the company has made too many bad decisions and actively hates its players while allowing carries to be spammed in Trade chat. Carries requiring tons of gold that can only be obtained by RMT or WoW Tokens.
Pretty much. Making the same "endwalker sucks" thread for two years isn't doing anything. I seriously doubt anyone from SE who matters is sitting and reading it.I mean, quiting is the biggest feedback you can give if disatisfied. That or maybe the Conspiracy is right, and NA just specifically gets ignored.
With the types of threads we make, it wouldn't be a surprise...most of it, while having some merit hidden within, just lacks any constructive feedback other then "This sucks" and there is a constant back and forth of "Try new things" and then when they try, the response is "Go back to the old way, we liked that."
Or just bashing and insulting.
I feel for the dev team sometimes, because it is just an angry black hole that can never be satisfied or filled.
