NA server issues over the last week is becoming unacceptable

This wouldn't be as much of a thing that happens if Square would actually put servers in multiple locations so people on the east coast/midwest don't get screwed over so often. It's almost like placing every server on one coast of the US is a bad idea. I think WoW has a data center in CA and one in IL so it can obviously be done.

Did this finally get resolved or are people still having problems?

My Marilith FC was doing Tower of Zot last night and kept wiping on the last boss from vuln stacks adding up from AoEs we didn't dodge due to the lag. Mid 4th attempt, the lag suddenly disappeared and we got the boss down without further problems. This was sometime between 6:00-6:30pm Pacific if I remember correctly.

I had also noticed earlier in the day that the lag was extremely noticeable in the Chocobo racing training course as I was unlocking Chocobo Racing on one of my alts. Just tried it again and no lag but then it's off peak.

No it's not remotely fixed yet. Between about 2am and 10am eastern everything clears up and there's minimal packet loss and rubber-banding stops. Like clockwork around 10am eastern it starts rubber-banding again and by about 1 or 2pm eastern the packet loss starts. Rubber-banding starts getting better and clears up entirely by about 2am eastern. I'm running a VPN just to be able to do anything outside of checking my retainers or setting up my island (and still having that lag) and I still get packet loss and rubber-banding some until the 2am eastern clear up.

Yep, the lag is still going. Spent all day doing last minute crafting of crafter/gatherer gear while lagging every step of the way. There was no downtime to the lag, even with me spending 12 hours crafting by hand (so I'd notice if it subsided).

Still happening. It clears up around 10am est. But as soon as 4pm rolls around its bad. You cant do crafting macros because its so bad. It takes 3x longer to do just about everything. All I know is come tomorrow if its not fixed they need to do something because right now the game is in an unacceptable state.

I'm part of the unaffected people so I'm not entirely sure what the status of the situation is but is it a Square issue or is it an AT&T issue? Does Square have much control if it's stemming from AT&T's end (like if AT&T is the one with the problem can Square demand them to fix it or is it still just going to be done on AT&T's time)?

I believe it's SE. SE is pointing at AT&T but as consumers we dont know who is in the wrong. I can play any other game except FFXIV and have no lag whatsoever. I have Verizon for my cellular provider so I may just end up having to use hotspot off my phone to play the patch tomorrow.

It's not SE. All of the traces have shown that. And it's easy enough to confirm for yourself. If it was SE, using a VPN/another provider wouldn't work. You are still connecting to SE. It's the stuff in the middle that changes, therefore, not SE.
