I had healer in mind - when i talked about those buttons tho.So, let's break down a job like Red Mage and try to eliminate meaningless buttons as much as possible and see where we're at. If we were to remove as many buttons that are just different ways of doing damage or the same thing, we could reduce Red Mage to having the following skill set:
- Jolt II (Single target, Potency increased)
- Impact (AoE, Potency increased)
- Vercure (Singel target healing spell)
- Embolden (Party buff)
- Verraise (Raise spell)
- Magick Barrier (Party mitigation/healing buff)
- Addle (Damage reduction debuff)
- Sleep (Crowd Control for solo)
- Swiftcast (Remove cast times once)
- Lucid Dreaming (MP regen)
- Surecast (Knockback immunity)
That is Red Mage without any repetition in its moveset. Is this a better Red Mage?
when it comes to DPS it's a different story ..bc as dps you can effort more buttons..

Why does that matter? They're both in the same game, aren't they? If two buttons ultimately do the same thing, and that takes away from gameplay--making it a bother--shouldn't that logic apply to every job?
DPS and heal ain't the same. Bc as dps you can ignore your team most of the time.. your attetion dosnt have to be on them all the time..
But as healer you need to keep eye on your party..cuz ppl makes mistakes

What do you mean? DPS also need to pay attention to their party. How else are they going to know when to use their mitigation and utility tools? Even Samurai has Feint, Black Mage has Addle, and Machinist has Tactician and Dismantle. You have to know when your party needs those, or you could wipe to a raidwide.

The boss's cast bar tells you everything you need..
inc some animations and sounds
So healers can't look at the boss's cast bar? And what about when the boss doesn't have a cast bar? Or what about SMN and RDM using Raise? What about Bard using Wanderer's Paean or Nature's Minne? What about DNC healing with Curing Waltz and Improvisation? What about using Bloodbath when you see your healers are busy reviving someone or trying to heal the tank? What about when you need to look at the debuffs on the party to know who has to do what during a specific mechanic? DPS players have to pay attention to the party menu just as much as tanks and healers do.
If the content is easy enough where you can safely ignore those abilities, then it's also easy enough to where you can safely ignore your attack buttons on a healer. So in a game with scripted mechanics and damage:
In either case, you can ignore the party list.
- High-end content: Fill out a spreadsheet.
- Other content: You can safely ignore those abilities. At the point where they might actually make a difference, the run is so far off the rails that it really doesn't matter whether you wipe or not. Laugh it off, and give it another go.
1) macros! i have the boss castbar at the mid of my screen at all times. So healers can't look at the boss's cast bar? And what about when the boss doesn't have a cast bar? 2) Thats why you pay attetion to boss animation and sounds too..
3) AS DPS w ress: It takes you 1 sec to see if a DPS/HEAl is dead
-> Ress macros make the progress fast w/o needed to click the target.
You're just trolling and beeing rude at this point..
