And no, Criterion and Alliance should not give gear equivalent to savage raids cause that would throw off the balance of those raids. Gear progression is a essential part of raiding and throwing that balance off by giving you more choices to get the same level of gear would temper with that.

I am casual too btw. so this is no casual shaming but seriously there is no need for a casual player to have gear equivalent to savage raid gear anyways. You can get easily 630 gear for example which is close to the savage gear itemlevel and for what do you even need it anyways? To better perform in braindead low level dungeons? Your gear won't matter anyways when the next patch hits so there is literally no reason for you to progress beyond what we have now for casuals anyways.

There are so many ways to get gear, we don't need even more or easier ways.
Criterion comes out 8 weeks after a raid tier.
Alliance raid comes out FOUR MONTHS after the raid tier.

If you care about savage, you would have cleared and already have the gear that matters.

Having the catch up patches drop equivalent gear is not going to affect the raid tier at all, as the hardcore players are done by the time the secondary content drops.
