They need to add trivial achievements, like one for wearing a full set of blues.

I don't really see how this would help anything. Achievement hunting in general is something only a super niche subset of video game players have cared about even since they were first conceived. Would you mind explaining your reasoning?
the serotonin fix you get from getting achievements for things you'd do anyway. It feels great seeing it pop up on your screen and being rewarded, even for something really small and unimportant. And seeing those numbers go up feels so good.
It's a WoW player thing. Most FFXIV players really wouldn't understand.
Oh, I wore full blues, I get an achievement, I stand in Bahamut's fire, get an achievement that says don't stand in fire, I emote /hug a player, BAM, another achievement. It's the small things that count that makes doing all kinds of different things in the game rewarding. This is what I loved in WoW, and as a WoW player.

Agreed. A lot of the achievements in the game really only exist for this reason, some of them not even giving you anything other than points. They exist to give you a feeling of accomplishment and a burst of serotonin.
The only achievements I don't like are the ones with inflated numbers. Who is going to be getting 20k accursed hoards, even if they're specifically trying to get it? Unless you no-life deep dungeons and deep dungeons alone, that achievement just isn't a feasible goal.
It also lands into the territory of being too hard/frustrating to be fun. I've been progging it for the last two months and while I'm making progress and I think I can definitely beat it with enough time, it just hasn't been a fun experience. I'd probably quit if I didn't have my current group and if I didn't feel like doing so would be wasting the time spent on it already. The devs said they were aiming for it to be easier than DSR (look how that turned out lol) and I thought it would be a fun experience, but back when it launched if I knew what I know now, I probably would have given TOP a pass. And I'm clearly not the only person who is unhappy with it, Zepla got so burnt out on it, she's taking a break from the game entirely. (there are other reasons for her taking a break, but TOP is the main one)What hasn't been talked about as much has been the recent ultimate, which is THE piece of content from the 6.3 patch. Even though very few do it, it does bring a lot of attention to the game. Even Yoshi P stated to those who don't do the content to at least tune into the streams to view it. They understand the importance of it. However, this implementation was probably the most un-polished by far.
