This seems to be the most common suggested solution.Rather than unskippable cutscenes I feel they simply could have that blue ring wall from the beginning of duties that prevents people from moving forward be implemented for final bosses in duties too until the first time new player has finished their CS. That way old players are not forced to visually watch it like MSQ roulette (can do something or chat while waiting) but new players can still enjoy. Also if everyone in the duty has already seen it then the game can just not implement that. A neat lil' flexible system based on party.
We at least know the game can track who has done something or not so doesn't seem too farfetched.
If anyone is in a cutscene, the final arena is blocked off. As soon as the last person finishes or skips the cutscene, arena opens.
Yep people can’t wait 30 secs of their invaluable time to let a new player having their own first experience.
But they say nothing about the minutes they loose because of the ista pull without those 30 secs to prepare a good opener. You know 24 good openers can cut by a couple of mins the entire fight.
At least if a dps Insta pull when I’m the healer, they usually die at the first AoE.
Now those 30 secs are back. Karma.

It's not an issue it's a forum thing. lol From the very same forum that thinks if a dungeon takes 30 seconds longer it's akin to harassment. xD Just because you're used to the bubble here doesn't mean it's real. Just being nice to new players isn't bad. Brutal efficiency doesn't trump everything. It's that simple. If it's that simple than it wouldn't be an issue. The fact that you have a large split between who agree and those who don't mean it's not. This is like someone saying a class is easy when half of the participant is failing.
And the heck does that have anything to do with "intellectual dishonest" to begin with. Or did you just insert the phrase to make the comment sound grander and cooler?
The detection is already there it tells you if there is a new player in the dungeon/trial etcThis seems like such obvious easy solution that I just have to imagine that the game's coding is so whack that it makes it hard to encode first time player detection to trigger "unskippable cs" so they have to have the either skippable cs for all players or unskippable cs for all players like in Castrum and Prae.
I wish they would implement is so that we can finally avoid this drama
is great for REvisiting, not catching up on something you missed because someone had to poop.
In the time it takes people to watch these scenes, a couple of mechanics happen and they miss the chance to learn them when they repeat with an added step. Now they're on the floor with a minute of half DPS / healing on return, eventually costing more time than you thought you were saving.
Indeed. The vast majority are happy to wait for newbies. I'd say 8/10 of runs I see wait for cutscenes, and in 2/10 you have one person (out of 24) who pulls early pissing off everyone to varying degrees, not just the newbie. It's not an issue it's a forum thing. lol From the very same forum that thinks if a dungeon takes 30 seconds longer it's akin to harassment. xD Just because you're used to the bubble here doesn't mean it's real. That's less than 1% of impatient discourteous players.
Aether's seeing a lot of folks from Dynamis so we check even in CT most of the time. It's usually "A has CS" "B has CS" "C has CS"
Then we have a raid dance party until someone tosses up a ready check or we see everyone's mostly there on the minimap
I think it would be fine if they blocked off the final boss arena until all cutscenes were done. Then we can still try to sync up dances or find out what that neat glam someone has is. They would probably need a way for the cutscene to auto finish after a certain amount of time, though, because you know someone would find a way to use that to troll.
Better. Get rid of boss intro cutscenes.
Just don’t have cutscenes in duties at all. Do some before. Some that auto trigger when you exit. But none inside.
I haven’t seen many cutscenes, but the few dungeon ones I have seen… quick tour at beginning. Boss jumps in and roars at you before final battle. They aren’t needed. They adding to the story.
