What exactly is restricting new players going to do when they already struggle to make gil as it is to even consider buying one? The amount of times I hear "I can barely make over 1m gil." from newbies on here or in NN, etc.

If you think most of the houses are being taken up by sprouts or actual new players, that's kinda laughable.

You know that buying gil is cheap right? And that square is barely doing anything to ban the people that do it? Why should people that have been playing and waiting for a house for years have to compete with this? Would like to see to have at least the requirement to finish endgame just like with island sanctuary.

By that logic people can easily just buy a story skip to ShB and get through EW in a day no? Story based reqs won't fix the issue either.

"I have been trying to get a house for longer than you so I deserve it more than you" This sentiment makes me even more glad the lottery was added to put everyone on equal footing with winning a house. If you meet the requirements and have the gil to purchase there should be no other barriers from letting you try and purchase one.

Goblet is underrated. The Brimming Heart is absolutely beautiful.

That's the only part of the goblet that looks nice. If you have a small in that area good for you. The rest of the goblet is trash-looking and I really don't understand why anyone likes a brown background. I guess this is just my opinion. If you and others like the goblet more power to you but I don't and I know a lot of ppl who feel the same way as me.

I mean, there already are story based requirements.

Shirogane came out during Stormblood, which meant you needed to be at least level 62 (when the cap was 70) in order to get a house there. 1/4th of all housing slots were locked off otherwise.
Likewise getting a house in Ishgard requires you to have completed Heavensward, so level 60.

Whichever new housing district we get is likely going to require a level of at least 81, as the prime candidates are likely Sharlayan or Thavnair.

That's fair, I'm sorry I used that wording. Tho it does bother me a lot I can't neatly spit my yard with a nice walking path from the gate to the door and the fact I can't use one of my fav house designs in the game.

Even this little overlap of the deck area of this house design hurts my soul so much...

I spent a lot of time searching for a plot I liked, and whilst the others did appeal I found a specific plot at the Goblet which I knew I wanted.

Granted it's a Small house but to be honest, it suits me just fine - it has a Market board on it's doorstep, an Aetheryte shard right oposite (aside from my own mini-Aetheryte on my plot) and this:




I absolutely love the view from the rear of the house.
And the bonus was that the Goblet not being to everyone's taste worked in my favour - I had no competition for the plot on the Ward I selected.

You are really lucky to have such a nice view from your small. Mine isnt so nice tbh and one of the reasons I hate goblet. Here is the view I have:

Two words less and this would've been ideal. I'll keep saying it till it gets through. Housing doesn't have to suck.

There is no solution to this that pleases everyone outside of letting people purchase whatever house they want in whatever nation they want. You'll see a lot less in ward competition if your ghost town is so much more important to you than it is to just have the appropriate size and decoration limit. Either way, it is absolutely an acceptable alternative to the fact that without the in ward spot, you simply can't decorate anything of that size in the backdrop you'd prefer. Like running a dungeon with NPCs is an option for people who don't or cant play with other players. It doesn't need to suck. People have every right to be upset, and people don't need to get upset either if SE would work on it or confirm that they are. They have the fucking money and ability to do it.

They make small instanced areas you can only move around a little in with beautiful backdrops constantly. Literally just look at the dungeons and trials. They know how to do it.
I can own 2 apartments. Just like anyone can. You cannot be outbid for an FC or regular apartment. 1 FC apartment, and 1 regular apartment. That's 2. 1 interior, 1 exterior. It doesn't have to suck.
