Last lottery cycle I made the rounds looking at exclusively Larges.

The most popular plots were the beachside plot in Mist and the left hill plot, left of the apartments, in Empy.
The most bids were in Empy then Shiro then Mist with Lav and Gob about the same in last.

Personally, I like Goblet the most and won my personal dream spot up top next to the apartments looking down on the whole pool area. I also have a medium FC in a center spot in Empy and enjoy it when it snows. The massive castle in Empy makes me feel like im living Disney theme park ngl.

Agree with the restrictions. It's laughable at best that new players have direct access to housing lottery.

As per my pictures in my previous reply, Goblet has mountains and stunning sunrises/sunsets over them.

If they meet the requirements and have the gil, why not?

What exactly is restricting new players going to do when they already struggle to make gil as it is to even consider buying one? The amount of times I hear "I can barely make over 1m gil." from newbies on here or in NN, etc.

If you think most of the houses are being taken up by sprouts or actual new players, that's kinda laughable.

I'll never be able to be in an area I actually like, or a yard I want to make it look nice. You call ishgard a snow hell but I call it heaven. The real hell for me is the goblet and it's a hell I most like never be able to escape from either...
Normally I love the snow areas in jrpgs because I also love the snow (not... driving in it.... but it's pretty to watch when you have nowhere to go), but I'm not a fan of Ishgard lol. Though I realized there's a pretty big similarity to where I live, my decision was driven by the fact I roleplay and Ul'dah is where my character has been residing since she came to Eorzea. Made sense for her to live in the Goblet. My dream area is the Hinterlands but alas, that won't happen for many reasons unless somehow Idyllshire gets a housing ward, but that'd be odd. Wish I could send the metric f[kupo]kton of snow we got over New Years over to you, I have enough to share (and I do still want more on the ground.)

Granted it's a Small house but to be honest, it suits me just fine - it has a Market board on it's doorstep, an Aetheryte shard right oposite (aside from my own mini-Aetheryte on my plot) and this:

I absolutely love the view from the rear of the house.
And the bonus was that the Goblet not being to everyone's taste worked in my favour - I had no competition for the plot on the Ward I selected.
I had competition when my ward first opened (3.3 I think? I'm in ward 9 and that was when it was first opened) but not a lot of people were in the Goblet. I lost the plot I'm in now to someone else who got there not long before me, but I got the small house directly across the way with the Med in between. When I saw my dream plot opened a few patches later, you better believe I relo'd to it! The waterfalls into the pools is really nice, probably my fave part of the entire Goblet.

Goblet is underrated. The Brimming Heart is absolutely beautiful.

I have a small FC in Brimming Heart on Balmung and love it. A FC friend has a small private (club deco with is gorgeous) right next to it and another friend just won one in another ward really close to the pool.

It's a great location to try for a first house if you don't have one and that would always open the open for a transfer at a later date.

I might have been okay with this stupidly lazy fix if it only applied to the dime a dozen small houses, but Medium and Large plots are some of the rarest and most sought after items in the game. Its insane to me that a some person who just hit level 50 and ground out a moot amount of gold has the same chance at getting one of these plots as a mentor with 50x more sub time and time played.

The very least they could do is increase the amount of money these plots cost (at least double) and require you to complete the Endwalker MSQ and possibly more. This would cut down on the amount of bids people with multiple alt characters and/or multiple accounts are putting in each buy period, as I personally know many people with 2+ houses that are putting in 3+ bids on MORE plots each buy period because of the loose restrictions.
Please it was exactly what the players wanted if you look enough threads back you will see how the masses was craving for a lottery, so it could be fair for all, now it is fair for all, everyone can put in there ballot and have a chance of winning also it is good for the health not having to stay up for hours nonestop clicking.

It can't be that difficult to understand that the community demanded it and then they got it, this whole lottery thing is the entire community's idea.

Housing is that slow to release people can easily save the gil even if it was double. It originally was a lot higher and still we had the same problem.
