VIERA AND HROTHGAR COMPLAINT MEGATHREAD

I did only want to paraphrase but here goes...

By the logic of including multiple patches on Viera's behalf, there is nothing stopping us from including all patches beginning from 5.0 onward. Now, my math may be off, but for now I'll say that includes something like 14 patches.

Now with that sample size, it leaves us with a trend of about 0.43 new styles for Hrothgar.

Assuming nothing has changed since the Devs went on record saying that adding new styles would take a very long time; guessing that we're only getting 2 is quite generous.

I just think the 5.0 to 6.0 patches are not the right data to use as a comparison when the 6.0 to 6.3 Viera updates actually demonstrate a consistent pattern. The only pattern in 5.0 to 6.0 was "nada, nothing, zippo" until one of several liveletters before Endwalker when they revealed new Viera styles, explained that it would be easier to add new styles and promised Hrothgar would get similar treatment one patch later. They also showed only 2 hairstyles in every single preview for Viera hair additions and when each patch dropped there were 6 ported styles (3 base game, 3 Modern Aesthetics per patch.) More if you take into account brand new Modern Aesthetics like Lyse's and the Island ponytails - which even Hrothgar got right when they launched! Maybe it's just my perspective as a Viera, but I have no reason to doubt the pattern will carry over with Hrothgar now that updates are clearly part of a patch-by-patch schedule.

Long story short Hrothgar got the full 6.0 batch past patch. There's no reason for me to think they won't get the full 6.1 batch now.

Best case scenario, we're getting 6 hairstyles. Worst case scenario, we're only getting 2 because Hroth heads are so complex they're developed at a slower rate. That little paranoia is what happens when you neglect an entire race for 3 years, and the one time you throw a bone at them, it's a disaster lol

I'm cautiously optimistic though, surely SE wouldn't want even more bad pr regarding a playable race. It's kind of a cardinal sin in mmos

I respect your stance to prepare for only what was shown even if I personally do strongly feel there's enough evidence that Hroths will get the full batch of 6. I get that there has been a lot of disappointment among Hrothgar in particular (more so than Viera). It's a reasonable perspective to have given the ear removal and adaptation of awful, unfitting styles first (2B peanut.) Plus if you prepare for the minimum you get to be surprised if there's more! That's pretty much how it went with Viera before the 6-per-patch cycle became obvious.

personally, they really shouldve prioritized cashshop hairs first. YES its scummy to be like "Hey you're finally getting hair ohp oop you gotta pay extra" but considering they do come with costumes, and considering how much the playerbase fantas, not screwing people out of hair they've owned since like heavensward should've been the goal.

This would be my priority choice as well. Along with making any cash shop hats, past and future, workable. :/

Absolute meme hours today; there are more than a handful of comments on the Hroth/Viera hair update complaining about how catgirls, hyurs, etc. haven't had enough hairstyle focus and they're putting too much time into buns and lionmen. Worse - they're begging for Viera exclusive locked hair and have been for a while. Frigging excuse me? We had to wait 3 years to use new Modern Aesthetics or even default hairstyles, yet apparently it's now the bulk of the playerbase (that has access to absolutely everything) wanting Viera hairstyles? Like yeah, I agree Viera has some racial exclusives that are a hell of a lot better than entire list of catgirl exclusives. I wouldn't even care if they shared the full list among all races one day, but this complaint just ain't it. Amusing though, I'll give it that.

My favorite racial exclusive is the singular hair I use on au ra. I would like to have that hairstyle available, although I don't know about making racial hairstyles non-exclusive.

Cats asking for more glam options is pretty funny. They have literally every hairstyle and glam option in the game styled to fit them. A few things they can't have won't kill them.

They do not. Miqo'te ears are cut off now in hats, for example. Capes are constant, and the tail clipping is horrific. Outfit pieces are made for hyur.

They are being catered to though, it's called literally the rest of the game Hrothgar and Viera do not have access to!

All the hairstyles, headgear, representation, NPCs, story focus, proper lore (bonus points if your lore doesn't amount to "but you can ignore this because everything got destroyed by fascists/you being outside your city means you no longer abide by it")

Miqo'te aren't being catered to though. Miqo'te get their racial features removed, same with au ra. Of course viera and hrothgar have it worse, but still.

Yeah, I dunno. I don't get it. Just took screenshots of what was said. I obviously think Viera look gorgeous. Their flaw is lack of headgear options and hairstyles. They have beautiful faces and eyes with vibrant colours, detailed textures and some of the best default racial hairstyles in the game. They also have the most beautiful darker skin tons. If they had launched complete (full headgear, full hairstyles) I'm sure more folks would have swapped and stayed. How popular the race is even with the shortcoming and being locked to an expansion speaks volumes.

Hairstyles can make or break a face, ESPECIALLY in this game. With viera, they look great, but we need more variety, and options for sure.

The problem is effort. The problem is time. And the problem is not allocating resources to stuff that's already been proven to take quite little time to do, instead of squashing a Hrothgar's skull into a Peanut.

Nah screw that. Each race has exclusives and then some. We are just catching up with the then some. Racial hair should stay racial hair, I won’t be here asking for au ra exclusive hair by on my Viera, all I want are the hairs EVERYONE already has.

I wouldn't mind some new racial hair for viera. Stuff that actually looks good. Its nice having some shared hairs though. When viera first came out, I was here on the forums hoping we would get access to unlockable or hairstyles we paid for in addition to the supposed promise of racial hairs.

Yeah it would have been wise for them to do that. I don’t plan on buying anything for a while on the mog store because of that and the fact they don’t make any of the hats work on the two races.

I think the outrage to them cherrypicking and only porting hairstyles that cost IRL money first would have been enormous and I'm personally relieved they didn't do it. I get that folks want to use those hairs too but making base game and Modern Aesthetics obtainable through rewards available first was the right move. Anything else would have come across as downright predatory.
