Also still curious if 6.2 was a one-time-only as compensation for 6.1, or if it means both races will get new hairstyles on par as everyone else from now on.

There won't really be any news on this until the 23rd when the Live Letter shows any new (or lack of) hairstyles, along with what percentage of the new gear these races can fully use in 6.3.

vieragals got lyses hair when it dropt and both races got both new hairstyles in 6.2 so Im hoping this means GOING FORWARD all new styles will fit both races.
I'd super appreciate if hrothgar got everything viera got in 6.1 and 6.2 because they have like 30 styles now and hrothgar have 7, and hrothgar still cannot use their own race hairs regardless of facetype so I think a little less blatant favoritism would be so cool of the devs but I haven't suffered any headwounds recently to allow me to have that much optimism.

Yes actually! On the 6.2 live letter Yoshi-P said now that hrothgar have ears on the hairstyles they're going to keep adding the other hairstyles on the following patches.
Unless you want to be reeeeally pessimistic, expect that to be the case every patch until we get every hairstyle shared by the other races, for both hroths and viera. And every newly added hairstyles as well, of course, barring gender locking.
