I suspect if headgear integration happens it will be a gradual process after all the hairstyles are ported and maybe after female Hrothgar are added. We've just gotta wait to see what they say during the gap between 6.5 and 7.0. They're well aware of the problem, it's just not something they're actively working to rectify right now. In time it might become a project.

I'm wondering if the headgear integration in full is being saved for 7.0? That's when the graphical update is supposedly going to happen for a lot of races, so they may be attempting to bundle the hats in with that. This btw, as you can probably tell, is your hopium for the week.

Never a problem to have a little hope. My guess is that the headgear updates (if/when they come) will be similar to the gender lock removals where they'll be posted in batches every major patch rather than all at the same time. They do already have a lot of things to work on that I feel are more important: graphical update, female Hrothgar, finishing hairstyles namely. 7.0 is going to bring a lot of visual changes already, but I know they're aware of how much folks have requested this. To me it's not a matter of if, but rather when.

Hope for the bare minimum, and be pleasantly surprised when you get anything more. I do not expect any new hats with the coming of 7.0, they already have their plates full. Female Hrothgar, the hairstyles for Viera and male Hrothgar, the visual update and also the new expansion content. I do hope we will get some hats in 7.x, but nothing more. They would need to add them to their development roadmap to even be considered in the first place.

My hope is that they will take one thing at a time and solve the existing issues, but not forget the overall game either. The graphical update and the new expansion content will be enjoyed by the majority of players regardless of their chosen race. And we will have to understand that will be the priority, the hats to adorn our glorious heads will have to wait.

Especially since we all know that once Viera gets unnerfed the Miquo'te and Au'ra population will start to decrease and the buns will take over. While we the glorious and cute felines will receive all the boops on the snoots and pats on the head!

They would clip them through the top of some and delete them in others. Probably depends on the model. A lot of folks won't like it, many will. I'm not here to say "oh poor SE small indie dev", but it's true that they can't please everybody. That applies to every part of the game. The implementation not being completely perfect isn't a reason that they shouldn't try, imo. They do work hard. I'm very grateful to these devs for being communicative. Doesn't mean they don't deserve criticism as well, but I've watched so many heavily requested features and details get added to the game over the years that I can't pretend they aren't putting in a lot of hard work.

that's fine, its weird that I can't wear helms for like dragon or paladin unless they cover the entire head (Except the endwalker dragoon helm for some reason). I just want to be able to complain with the rest of the races instead of chasing after them.

edit: Actually I can't even wear some of the full head cover helmets for some reason. Don't blame it on ears cause Au Ra got horns.

considering all the hats I wanna wear I kinda big I dont think hidden ears would be an issue compared to no ears on hair.
Like I wanna wear the flat cap and the neoishgard hats and the lv60 sch steampunky hat so ears poking uselessly out those small brims would be worse that ears on head being enveloped by caps.
That said, a certain femroe player has broken NEW GROUND by adding earsleeves and holes for all hats (incl. those that hide miqo ears lol) on hrothgar and viera so its not like its impossible.

Reminder to every hrothed gar here. Two viera styles in 6.3 pvs weve seen are Modern Aesthetics, those being Adventure and Saintly. Now, if they go the launch ew route and give viera 5 MA styles, great. If they go 6.1/2 route, theres only three, and that will be greatly disappointing.

If we assume they will not go the extra mile for hrothgar in 6.3, that means we will only get the 6.1 styles viera got, not 6.1 and 2, meaning that 6.3 styles will be given to us in 6.5, the last new slew of styles we get for 10 months until 7.0 finally exists. Meaning we will probably not get the fun feathered bead style everyone loves, much less our much desired Windcaller. So you had best be paying good attention to viera styles in order to not be disappointed two patches later.

I remember getting the nier hair with no ears. I have waiting the entire shadowbringers for hair. I have already been at the lowest disappointment possible.
