I love when people claim people interested in raiding are the tiny minority. when over in JP they account for upwards of 30% of the population (according to Lucky Bancho statistics). This, it is very easy to pretend to be constructive while in reality demanding that they, often raiders should be placed ahead of everyone else in terms of content, rewards and priority often because they unironically believe raiding makes them more important than everyone else.
And when they are used to being pandered too in games like WoW they just cant comprehend how FF14 focuses on the majority of the playerbase rather than their tiny minority.
JP doesn't equal NA or EU. Different mindsets between the communities leads to a lower percentage for raiding.
That's the NA perception because it's inherently insecure (and frankly a little racist) over here.
The truth is as Aword3213 posted above. There's too much noise for them to glean any real feedback from this section. JP can organize a thought better.
My statement is more of one on JP player mentality on playing games, which is very likely different from NA and EU player mentalities. Most NA players are terrified at the mere thought of raiding due to the stereotype of toxic raiders and the anxiety of not being good enough. That may not be a thing in JP, leading to more people willing to do it over there. I don't know a damned thing about JP gaming culture though.

Its actually because of scrutiny the average playerbase in Japan plays better because they think of the group (funny that the west deems this as toxic), not themselves in a selfish fashion. My statement is more of one on JP player mentality on playing games, which is very likely different from NA and EU player mentalities. They also just play content that is delivered by the Devs, and actually like playing socially.

Yep, in my understanding, Japanese social etiquette just in general is more focused on the benefit of the group over the benefit of the individual. Whereas in the West it's usually the opposite, the benefit of the individual takes priority. Its actually because of scrutiny the average playerbase in Japan plays better because they think of the group (funny that the west deems this as toxic), not themselves in a selfish fashion.

This comes across in Party Finder in that the individual JP player will put more effort into learning the fight and their class ahead of time as to not bring down the group, and if they do poorly they are more likely to excuse themselves. Whereas in NA/EU PF, the average player is far more likely to just blame someone else like the healer or tank and not put in as much effort into fixing their own mistakes.

So ignore the JP playerbase in any arguments cos they prove many people wrong that the raiding is only done by the tiny minority?
Are you saying the JP playerbase aren't part of the FF14 community?

Even when you look at NA-EU, the percentages are around 5-15% depending on Data Center (With Crystal as an outlier being like 1-5%). At that point it depends on how you define the word "tiny". Plus there's the fact that raiders have knock-on effects on the rest of the community. For example lets look at people who exclusively farm gil with crafters and such. Who is going to buy hugely expensive day 1 crafted gear if not raiders?

Hugely expensive is a stretch now since they're delaying savage a week. You don't need to pay exorbitant amounts and can wait for prices to drop from undercutting. At least if you're smart that's what you'd do since there's no rush anymore.Even when you look at NA-EU, the percentages are around 5-15% depending on Data Center (With Crystal as an outlier being like 1-5%).
