It is unfair to people who maintain their subscriptions (like everyone in my family since day one without a break) to let people ride free and keep their houses. I do not necessarily mean those who are in a bad way, but instead those who take advantage of the situation.

And as far as those who are in conflict or disaster areas, I think they will be much more concerned with having a real roof over their heads rather than a virtual house in a game. Besides if they keep the demo timer up to date, any who are able to return to the game will have a better chance at getting a new house if they lost one a long time back. They could always add for wards if major conflicts ended to increase chances.

I understand that they want to be fair to those in dire straits, but SE should also be fair to everyone. Of course to be truly fair, the housing system would be overhauled and anyone who wanted a house could get ONE (instanced or whatever solution). They could also be fair and make those who have multiple personal houses choose the one they wanted to keep and the rest go back into the pool for others. I do not care if they had them before the specific rule.

I have had a house for a long time and have kept my sub in order to keep my house even when I was not able to play due to health reasons. If that is how they set up the system, then they should consistently enforce it.

Just my 2 cents, probably worth even less.
Agree to all except the bit regarding grandfathered houses. Pretty sure they made it clear already that people won't be asked to give up those plots, so my opinion is the same as what I stated above: I'm in favor of any solution that does not involve houses being removed from people. There's no reason to. Square just needs to suck it up, invest the money needed and provide instanced housing for those who want it. Neighborhoods were fine when the game was smaller, and houses sat abandoned for extended periods of time, it's not working anymore and its time they realize that. If people want to live in wards they should be able to and if they want to only have their own private space, they should be able to.
