Or they have been missing mechanics and I'm not confident they won't continue to miss them. But I'm generally pretty chill even if they get a vuln here and there so long as it's not putting undue strain on my ability to maintain support for the entire party.
What I've said before is "If you stand in the bad, I will assume you have a plan to get to safety in time. If you do not do so, and thus die, I will assume your timing was off. If you stand in the same bad and die again, I will begin to consider the possibility that I am your plan to get to safety, and may act accordingly."

(Though in all honesty, I tend to go a lot longer than that before I start to ponder Rescue as a viable option for getting someone through mechanics.)

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.

Same. To be honest, my Rescue gets a lot of dust on it. And things are so fast-paced sometimes that I'm worrying about getting myself to safety and there isn't time if they aren't already partially along the way with me. My Rescue probably gets the most use in LotA and I'm sure you know exactly what fight I mean. Sometimes in Syrcus or Dun Scaith, too. And sometimes in a couple Nier raids, though most of the time even the Twelve aren't going to save them.

It's biggest use for me was in old Prae at the elevator when you had someone AFK. You could yoink them onto the platform and everyone could move on.

For some reason, it always worked there for me. Invariably their weapon was drawn but they were motionless.

Edit: Come to think of it - it was because of the opening zergs. Everyone was still in battle at that point people went afk.

They probably had aggro from past mobs. But Rescue can only be used in combat so if there's no aggro in those areas, then that person gets to be left behind.

Even in rare cases where Rescue has a real use, like rescuing dive3 into the stack in UCOB, it still ends up griefing because half the time the healer Rescues early, pulling the divebomb into the group. And for what? For nothing. Not only can you now skip divebombs entirely, you don't need 8 people for that stack.

The ability shouldn't exist if its only use is extremely niche in high-end content that the majority of players won't ever touch.

If you think you need Rescue because another player keeps standing in AoEs constantly, realize that same player could be casting Rescue on you. There is no skill check when you cast Rescue. Healers are not automatically better than other players just because their role icon is green.

I'm sick of healers tossing me off ledges, pulling me into AoEs, and ruining my uptime in casual content for no reason. Rescue is negatively impacting my gameplay. I have never had a positive experience with Rescue.
No way, man. I gotta save people when Susano flicks them away.

I don't ever personally Rescue precisely because I don't want to get the "ANGYYY" reactions I'm seeing right now in some posts. But goodness, complaints against Rescue sound like grade-A crying. Nothing has sounded this whiny, this bitchy.

I don't put rescue on my hotbar when I'm healing cause healing is my weakest role, there's boss mechanics & the whole party's health I gotta worry bout & I don't want the added stress of pylling people out of aoes. I figured I'd just heal someone up if they don't move in time out of an aoe.

But I am very thankful when a healer uses it on me, from my own personal experience it's saved my butt many times when I didn't know any better.
