Social media is 100% going to be the downfall of civilization.
Indeed. After all, the only two options are ignoring all feedback or listening and implementing all feedback...
Then we could also talk about Yoshida doing a banger job of directing the game to destruction on his own, but let's not.
Why start with 2022 internet? Screw 2012 internet and social media. Who am I kidding, the eternal September has taken us and all we did was clap...
Do people really use that many glamours? I see like 5 i would want to use.
That's the thing. Remember when they unveiled the Hrothgar hairstyles and people didn't like that they were laughing while showing us Karen Hrothgar or 2Peanut?I mean it could have been more jokingly... Bad if it was facetious, but I could see where it was just meant "we're excited to announce this thing we did that was hard!! WOOOo--.. well I know you will want more soon lol.".
I don't think it was meant to be disrespectful to player desires, if it was then that's sad- but I don't think that was the intention.
You don't need to mean anything with malice for people to still perceive it as something you just shouldn't say. That's why PR and such departments exist. So you don't say something insensitive and untoward, even if all you want is to make fun of the situation. Because as Lyth says...
Yeah. We will. And they know we will.
PR and revisions, as well as care with what you say overall, are important for a reason. Because one thing is just a mild joke that everyone can agree with. Another thing is a joke that not many people will laugh at. And another is taking a jab at the community that can be taken as being passive-aggressive.
And also history is a bit required to put some statements into perspective here. And given he's already had a strike before with the Hrothgar hairstyles, some people aren't in for a joking mood. At least not jokes like those. You don't have to agree with anyone's humour, you just need to respect it.
...though, wasn't there this one time in early Stormblood where Yoshida said the lines about "Ok, here, have this Red Mage minion, stop bothering me about Blue Mage" when people shouted at Yoshida for wanting Blue Mage implemented after he said no?
Again: perspective.
Ahh, opinions are like...I hope you know the sayingI agree, Yoshi P should start destroying FF 14 entirely by listening to all feedback.
- Destroying the identity of all jobs to fix two 2% gap between efficency of different jobs. Ah already did that.
- Making most jobs brain dead so people would play them, because lets be fair, there is a reason Summoner was the less liked job and Red Mage was the most loved in ShB. Ah, already did that.
- Making modern days, bikini and so on to make FF look like free to play korean mmo. Ah already did that.
Now the community wants the WoW glam system to make it look even more like free to play game, why not. Lets just remove entirely the crafting leatherwork, blacksmith and tailing jobs from the game.
See, here's the thing, those are all opinions you're trying to masquerade as "facts." I can have opinions, too. And mine are the polar opposite. I love the balance between the jobs, and there are certain ones I still prefer over others because there are still differences in the details, nor are they "brain dead" by any stretch of a reasonable imagination.
The upside is I do have actual facts to support my opinions. Namely the steadily increasing average playerbase with each passing expansion, which includes EW as the top so far. Want to destroy something? Listen to the rabid vocal minority and fix what isn't broken. The playerbase far and away loves EW and its design. Keep going with it and ignore the trolls.
I enjoy shlock as much as the next guy but let's not pretend it's high brow entertainment. Same situation. Also, equating that sales are a sign of a good product is a terrible argument for obvious reasons, lol.Ahh, opinions are like...I hope you know the saying

I'm part of a vocal minority that wants them to fix something that is broken. And it's considered broken by the people who play it.The upside is I do have actual facts to support my opinions. I wouldn't say I'm trolling, I'm just saying "SE made this content for us, the people playing it aren't happy, but they're still not doing anything about it because apprently only THEY get to decide how peoples' enjoyments of something is meant to go".
So imagine the guys wanting stuff that isn't broken to get fixed.
Also can we stop pretending like "a growing number of players" is a sign there's quality? It's a novelty game, and most new players won't be looking at most of the flaws older players do. Not to mention, at least in the Hrothgar topic, new players HAVE come out to express their frustrations.
Jesus dude, first of all, you need to calm down. "Burn in hell"? Have you taken your daily church mass?
Secondly, I'm not pretending the world revolves around my tastes. NONE of what I said was about tastes.
I'm just pointing out that there's a portion of the playerbase that is playing something broken, has complained about it, and is constantly being thrown aside.
Not the people who complain when stuff isn't broken, it's people complaining about stuff that IS.
...maybe before consigning people to hell you should read what people say? You'll look far less like you're this close to setting an orphanage on fire.
Just.
Chill, pray to jesus, seek some salvation or whatever because sis, you need it.

Yeah...Blizzard and WoW broke records with their WoD, BfA and Shadowlands expansions. It ended up ruining their reputation more each time, which broke some other records that they are probably not too proud of. lol So yeah, sales do not always indicate how good (or bad) a game is.
