Problem is everyone defending it isn't truly using their brain and seeing the bigger picture. Just using the small logic of timer bad, timer stay off. Whereas the timer creates fairness for people who have decided to never come back or whatever reason and a plot just sits there never used when someone else could use it
I wonder if you would still found it fair if you finally get a house and then lose it thanks to the timer?

How about instead of punishing players we make it fair in a way that EVERYONE gets a house. Instead of wanting that bandaid back that wont free many houses while also hurting someone that was not able to log in, we group together and demand SE to change that system? How about a round of instanced housing where you can decide which house size you want?

Instanced housing would be the best way for this game. Everyone gets a house, the rewards in events and quests dont feel like a punch for those that dont have one and maybe people would chill out more instead of trying to hurt others so that they can get their chance. (And still fail because there are simply too many people)

Days ago someone wrote in my house that he gives it a -2 in decoration and that he could do so much better with it. Sorry player, its not my fault that I have this house and you dont have one. Dont need to be rude for it.
