Panic Defense is a thing yes. It's unfortunate just as drunk drivers usually getting probation and maybe 3-8 years for killing someone(s) in a wrong way accident is unfortunate too. There's also "crimes of passion" where a man is enraged and murders a woman and is given a lesser sentences too, because he cant help how angry he was. You can't really save yourself in the case of the latter, but with the former...what makes the 'panic' excuse work, is that the person withheld what their prior gender was before this. Of course, this doesnt make what they did right, but it's in everyones best interest to be upfront about it first and to try to have proof of that should anything go wrong. A lot..no, all murders committed against transexuals are done by men and usually its men who didnt know or did know but claim that they didnt and so they were shocked when in reality, they just thought about it and realized that actually they hated it-what does any of this have to do with XIV again??

Seeing as how informed consent cannot be given when a person is withholding important information from you, I'm surprised nobody has tried to sue and claim rape/sexual assault.
Really is in your best interested for your own safety and the other parties right to informed choice to be honest and not hide who you are. I mean would you really want to sleep with someone who would find you disgusting if they knew the truth? You deserve someone who will accept you knowing everything.

I get that this whole conversation has really done a great job at making people aggressively ignore the statistics that we're talking about here. But, come on man. It's shitty, but there are so many shitty things that happen thousands of times more to LGBTQIA+ members. Stop acting like this thing that happened once every couple of years to one person which the last time was 8 years ago as some pattern of systemic thing that is being allowed to happen.

What you're seeing is a proportionate amount (very small) of shitty legal cases that has affected a proportionate amount (very small) of humans.
