How can you call a character you know next to nothing about boring?

Admittedly we don't know much, but I'm not exactly confident Clive will develop into an interesting character when SE has released 2 trailers that have failed to make a protagonist stand out by any means.

If your protagonist is a character to care about, then you should showcase that with promotional footage for a game. I'd be more forgiving if the game was just announced, but one year isn't that much time to hype up a character.

I also do think Cloud is boring for 2/3 of Final Fantasy 7 - easily when of the worst FF protagonists that is only memorable because of their design.
