Watched the most recent trailer, honestly the game LOOKS awful. Like the visuals. I get some people are into it, but the constant extremely in your face particle effects make the whole game look like an NVIDIA tech demo or something. Also not super into realism when it comes to graphical styles for a final fantasy game, but they made it work (mostly) with 15 so... let's hope they make it work again?
Also worried about the rating, I feel like japanese games have this tendency to be "mature" by just adding a bunch of sex scenes or nudity, or maybe comically over the top violence. I have little hope for them handling any mature themes particularly well. But they could surprise me.
I've pretty much abandoned Sony after the PS3/Vita, so if it's a PS5 release or a PC store exclusivity problem then I likely won't play it. I haven't touched 13 or 15 either.
Nope. Not interested in it at all. This is the only FF game I follow, or have really played.

It's making me start to wonder if they're going the route of making the FF series evolve into a more action RPG and use the Dragon Quest series to stay with the old school turn based menu interface style as aside from minor QoL updates the Dragon Quest series of games plays the same regardless of number in the main entry series regardless of number with a slight exception to DQX letting you freely run around the combat area.
I'm definitely looking forward to it. Also looking forward to that other one, that's not titled FF but has the girl bouncing about the open world like space with really nice looking parkour movements.
It's a large shift and so it would be a challenge but I'd love to have a witcher 3 / skyrim like FF experience, hopefully they also embrace the modding community (via tools).
Always wanted a more free form gorgeous FF space, with all that comes with FF but also all that comes with the less restricted 3d format.
I'm not interested in FF games (except for 14), since the only player input they have is battle, and I don't care about battles. I want interactive stories, I want to make decisions!
The trailer looks awesome, though. I LOVE the dark medieval fantasy theme, it's my favourite and this one seems very well done. I would not play it myself due to the things mentioned above, but I would gladly watch it on youtube (so long as anyone streams it with the original Japanese audio). If the story has 0 interactivity, I will simply watch a video of it and avoid going through boring battles.

Kind of maybe? I'm curious. I've never played any FF games outside of 14 though.
Outside of the MMO's I haven't really enjoyed a FF game since FFX. The jump from turn based combat into these weird amalgams of action combat have just not been enjoyable at all. FFXVI also apparently has the combat designer from devil may cry which makes me even less interested. While I loved DMC1 back in the day, the following DMC's, especially 3,4 and 5, went to the extreme with the style system and just turned all the enemies into dumb AI that became glorified punching bags so I just got bored in every DMC game I played as they just turned into mindless button mashing.
Will I play it? Probably. Will I like it? Eh, I don't think I will.
not at all actually.
The trailer didnt grab me, and given the price of a solo game, there are others that I think look more interesting that I will spend money on, but not that one.
