Think this is one of the most horrific things I've ever read here. I can't believe gambling real money-well. Well! There's always those slot games that are streamed on twitch! Since that's such a good time apparently! klsjdlkfjk
Why does it have to be real money? Was this post satire?
The thing is, WoW just does it better. There are far more mounts and minions, a proper mount/pet tab, the whole toybox, a glamour dresser that holds every glamour, a miles better achievement system, lots of interesting achievements, ridiculous amounts of old content that can be soloed, pet battles and so on.
Not saying "WoW good, ff14 bad", it has plenty of faults, but in terms of fluff content filler WoW is (or was) more fun. Not to mention ff14 has developed a mindset where showing off accomplishments is considered evil and everything is either 10 minutes and done or 500 hours that no one cares about and will look down on you for if you're proud to earn it, so what's the point? There's zero prestige in earning most things in ff14, it's just not worth countless hours.
Most movie tickets cost around 15 dollars when you add the expenses. The way I see it, I have the "license" to watch the XIV movie, might as well pay a ticket to enjoy it for the month. At least that will last me more than an evening and the buyer's remorse will slowly creep up on me rather than slap me in the fact 2/3s into the movie (I REMEMBER YOU FORCING ME TO PAY TO WATCH "LUCY" ON PREMERE NIGHT CHRIS. I. STILL. REMEMBER!). Though I might just skip 7.0 until it goes on sale, which is a shame considering I liked making XIV expansion day launch an event for me. :/
Sounds like it’s time to move on from FF14 to other games.i had an itch to play because i really want to play. i did an expert and leveling roulettes, and i was like, yep still nothing to do in this game.
i've completed savage during shadowbringers. did bozja and half of eureka. nothing really keeps me around.
i find it amazing that asmon still plays wow after all these years, maybe its the just the fans and streams keeping wow alive. i've never played wow, but maybe it just has more content that ffxiv would benefit from. somebody enlighten me.
i love this game but it isn't much of a game anymore to me. it's like a playable anime.
genshin impact suffers from this as well. sometimes the best art form for your media is not always a game if you are going to take that full story direction.
I was like this with EverQuest. Started in 2001 and quit when GoD expansion came out. I’d go back for TLP servers but it would always end the same for me in that nostalgia was the real reason I went back. (I did finally get a character to level 50 though!)
This is by design. Notice how content updates conveniently follow close or directly on monthly renewals? The whole staggered release is to try and keep people from unsubbing because content is always at its best when first released.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."

I feel like they need to dip their toes into "builds" i really do enjoy this game but it gets stale from the hunt for glamours end game BS. I need reasons more than just to how i look to farm trials and dungeon runs and etc. Most MMOS have this problem. Thats one thing i LOVED about eso. Equipment farming and hunting for awesome skills and passives you get. I know it would warp the game but they need to just do something when it comes to content. I will most likely keep palying though![]()
I installed the game about a year ago and haven't uninstalled it yet.

This.
I think people are too used to games nowadays being designed to borderline force you to have '' daily engagement ''.
Even fighting games like MK11 are beginning to become designed with stuff to '' incentivize '' you to login every single day...
FFXIV is full to the brim of activities and social stuff, it just doesn't punish you for not doing it.
Which most games do nowadays.
And I think to a lot of people it makes them feel like '' why should I do it if I don't have to? ''.
Well...
I think that question is sort of a problem in and of itself.
The things you mentioned are in FFXIV too not to mention that old content ages better in FFXIV ( also how many people totally neglect Bozja and Eureka and never give them a real chance? ).The thing is, WoW just does it better. There are far more mounts and minions, a proper mount/pet tab, the whole toybox, a glamour dresser that holds every glamour, a miles better achievement system, lots of interesting achievements, ridiculous amounts of old content that can be soloed, pet battles and so on.

FFXIV also has stuff like the Gold Saucer and card games that are really popular and imo Fate trains can actually be quite a lot of fun especially if you do it with people you know.
FFXIV also has less RNG than WoW which I think is part of why it makes some stuff like mounts less '' prestigious '', which I don't exactly think is a bad thing too much RNG sucks ass and is unfun imo.
But there are still mounts you can get and show off.
I don't rly think it's true in WoW either tho, this is an old MMO thing that died out in WoW too.
It's just not the same as in Vanilla anymore, even in WoW Classic.
Seeing someone with an Epic weapon or mount simply isn't impressive or as unique anymore.
WoW definitely has a better glam system, but imo WoW also has really boring gear that makes for little variety.
FFXIV has significantly more variety in gear that makes for more imaginative and creative glams.
And FFXIV also has a way better FC ( Guild ) system and FC's are generally way more active and fun to be in, even just random FC's still tend to have FC events and frequently have a FC house.
Guilds in WoW are generally quite dead and feels more like a glorified friends list.
Edit: Oh and Palace of the Dead and Heaven on High...
And a much more fun profession system ( also fishing is pretty fun and has ton of events ).
Srsly tho most of the time when I watch WoW streamers play they're mindlessly running around killing open world mobs.
I think that a problem in FFXIV is that people don't expand their horizons enough.
While in WoW the content is more simplistic and just standard '' go out and kill '', easier to get into.
But also ultimately less fun and more repetitive imo.
Edit 2: Oh yeah lol, and we have more emotes that you can also find and unlock/ grind for.
But yeah I am sure people can think of more.
But emotes are a lot of fun to play around with.
