I think it's fair to say that if you're being reasonable in chat, you're more than likely gonna be ok.
That said, yes, every now and then you'll have absolutely freakin unhinged mental giants who will give you all kinds of crap.

I absolutely understand. But I think the most annoying of the content is that it's the same over and over. Each expansion has the same patch content cycle and except from the .2/.3 patch where Diadem/Eureka/Bozjan.
I'd like more open world content, treasure chests in the world, rewarding exploration, slightly difficult content, progressive dungeon difficulty. Areas feel designed to accommodate the story quest and that's it.
Also, the gear is very boring in FFXIV. All the gear feels like stat sticks. Nothing special out of the gear. I'd like the gear to give bonus to abilities.
I just want slightly more oompf out of the open world.
You've only maxed four of your jobs, and you obviously haven't completed all the role quests because you have yet to max a tank. So I don't think it's accurate for you to say that you have nothing to do. I think it's more accurate to say that there's nothing in the game that you want to do, and that's OK.
But you haven't completed any savage content in Endwalker, from the sound of it. Again, it's OK if you don't want to do that, but the way you phrased this implies that there's no savage content in Endwalker, which is just not true.
If you think that WoW has more to offer you than this game, you're going to be sorely disappointed, given your distaste for dungeons and savage raids. WoW has about 24 hours of game play (starting from level 1) before you're thrust into the endgame, which consists entirely of running Mythic+ Dungeons over and over (you need something like 11 runs per week at 10+ difficulty to maximize your chances of getting something useful out of your weekly loot vault) and four difficulty levels of the same raid. As for Asmon, you clearly haven't been watching his stream if you're saying that he's still playing WoW. He dips his toe back in from time to time, but he's currently taking a break from the game because it pretty much sucks, in his opinion. He's spent the last month just watching the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial, and he has plans to go back to FFXIV when that's done.
Or, and honestly this is more likely the actual truth, people tend to talk in their LS/discord servers rather than in game. I used to chat a fair amount with people in game, but when a bunch of them left FCs we shared, transferred servers, or outright quit....the chatting went drastically down for me. There isn't much for me to say in-game, since the few people I do talk to tend to chat on discord rather than in game, and when there is, it's usually just a quick mechanic blurb so that we can stop wiping to the same thing over and over. Its because MASSIVE fear-mongering campaing from veteran players that "you will get banned if you use chat, because someone gets offended hur hur"
While in reality they probably got few hours/day suspension because they told someone to uninstall or other personal attacks in leveling dungeon where no one should give a two loams about someone dying few times.
