Are they baiting? I think they're baiting.
Are they baiting? I think they're baiting.
I have not denied, and need not deny, anything there.
You're right that we can't possibly be seeing the same thing, though. Which makes me suspect that whatever hostility you've faced there has nothing uniquely to do with whether your party members could see quantitatively how you were performing.
If this is your argument, I believe that it would be more prudent to state how harassment towards players would remain at the same level you believe it to be if the measurement tools were permitted. Because right now they are not. Should it be mentioned that harassment for any reason is prohibited? That alone should answer your question.
I would also add that I don't believe it is harassment that is the issue with DPS meters being allowed in the game; I believe the concern is actually gatekeeping, which is already a thing be it players want to admit to it or not. Meters would likely exacerbate the issue. Not a guarantee, but also not a risk the dev team is willing to take.
Sorry just had to reply to this
1. Funny how that is in fact wrong since a lot of people DISAGREE with parsers andEveryone else in this thread disagreeing with your assessment
Hmmmmm
2. i dont do groupthink, and as my own memory can attest, there have been multiple occasions when I have done what you have stated above..and been proved right. Disagreed with the "majority"...on one occasion , disagreed with an entire NOC team's assessment over a systemic network issue.
That same issue caused a total network failure fifteen minutes later. I just sat there and waited for the call from the NOC director who, to give her credit, called me and apologised.
Everyone else does NOT agree with you, and that INCLUDES the entire FF 14 dev team.
Something to consider, no?
I really fail to see what there is to "prove right" about a matter that's purely your opinion
Love seeing people fear monger that open parses would open up harassment. The most toxic people I see in this game are the casuals who are nothing more than passive aggressive little bitches most of the time.
If you’re not pulling your weight, you are going to be locked out or called out one way or the other, so wouldn’t you rather it be up front and open?
To be fair you don't actually know if this statement is true, Yoshi P is hardly the entire dev team. Odds are some of them probably agree with us....
Also the echo chamber in which you are posting will have wildly different results then say reddit.

R.I.P samurai main 2022 - REAPER TIME!
Not sure if somebody already said it. I think some kind of dps-meter could be nice for savage, ultimate and the trainingsdummy area. But not for the game in general. People would become too toxic if they always just see numbers, instead of 'the win with others'.
But in hard content it would be good to get more feedback from the game, so that it's easier to improve.
This would be extra cool if they had an on-rails mock boss fight where you could practice doing mechanics while you see how your DPS stacks up with that. You can beat the snot out of a Patchwerk fight all day and night but as soon as you have to obey mechanics your DPS changes with how greedy you are(which is more forgivable here) or how conservative you are.Not sure if somebody already said it.
