Most Hated XIV Character

Alpinaud and his Brother i cant stand these two guys (or girls? Oo) since the first time i saw them. I hate them so much that i would hang them with their ugly hairstyle on the next tree or lantern. Sadly they appear like in 50% of all videos ingame and leave me no other choice than to skip the clip to keep my bloodpresure in check. I really hoped Endwalker would be a closure for the old cast and start with something new but its the same stuff all over again.

ummm hmmm. I don't really hate anyone per say but. But if I had to pick it would be Ramza Lexentale from the Stormblood alliance

Agreed. I don't hate him for it but I've lost some interest in him as a character. Same with Y'shtola to some degree. As much as I like Thancred, he's also grown rather stale. G'raha arguably suffers from a similar issue as Estinien; I've never liked him, I don't like his next most similar character either (Alphinaud), and overall I am disappointed that they didn't take the opportunity to go with a fresh cast, that might've spared me of the current crew, where they're either annoyances or a bit stale. There is no real conflict in their perspectives to spice it up. Fordola could've offered this, but she was relegated to role quests. There is always the possibility they could introduce worse characters, of course, although I liked Deryk, so if it were characters like that, I'd be pleased. I'll just pretend I'm dragging Hyth, Themis and old grouchy Ascian grampa along.

Hauchfant or whatever. Literally could have never been in the game and nothing would have changed. Monebreyda is a real close 2nd.

Venat and Hermes in equal measure. They're two of the biggest traitors in video game history yet the story seeks to bend over backwards to try and deflect from that by leaning on some rather ridiculous caricatures and sophistry.

Alphinaud is in second place. It gets boring when he moves from region to region to erode away what makes a location gritty and unique in order to create some strange 'One World Government' that coincidentally ends up benefitting Eorzea first and foremost.

G'raha Tia would be third. He comes across as creepy and obsessive. Not having the ability to tell him to back off is irritating.

For me, it's Zenos. He was just such a weird mix of OP, cutscene-fu JRPG antagonist and cartoony, evil-for-the-sake-of-being-evil villain but with none of the "fun" either tropes bring. All his victories against us or the resistance felt hollow and paint-by-numbers. Then there was all the building him up as a threat in ShB (which for me, had a far grander story then SB) only for that to fizzle out into nothing halfway through EW.

Zenos is the only character I have seen that people go out of their way on fan art/a conversation including discussion of him to argue about how "boring and terrible" he was so I will have to say most universality hated is him.

For me personally Hermes. I just couldn't stand how whiplash Hermes is doing the side quests in Elpis where everything he is on about about people not caring about creations is wrong. He legitimately just needed to talk to his peers more.

This is coming from a massive fan of everything Hildibrand, to the point I consider him coming back this expansion a legit selling point.

I don't find him funny. That's it. Do I hate him as much as other NPCs? I don't think he makes my top ten. It helps he's 100% optional.

I like dry humor and not whatever his is classified as.

I think what also hurts him for me is the fact its a 3d MMO as opposed to a 2d anime or cartoon. ...And even in anime I have a hard time finding some of the over the top faces to be funny. Here in FFXIV? It just gives extreme creepy vibes.

...Also I thought there was a Japanese word for it that I don't remember? /shrug Slap stick works!
