I grant it started that way.

However, at this point, the thread has also contained suggestions that completing the MSQ on one character should complete it on all your characters, and that you should be able to funnel XP from one character to level a job on another, and so on.

The justification for this being examples like "other games let you level alt characters from fresh to cap in a few hours", while FFXIV gates "I want this alt to catch up to that one" behind story skips and job boosts.

    For instance...

We should also have the ability to skip the recent Arc if we have done it on one character already.

...and so on. So at this point, it seems like more than mounts and minions are under discussion.

(Side note: I think the existing armory bonus -- the chonky XP boost to any job that isn't your highest level one -- is meant to be FFXIV's equivalent to 'faster leveling of alts'.)

DPZ2's post might've been vehement, but it's not irrelevant; parts of this thread have in fact been discussing fairly dramatic changes to existing game systems. (E.g. MSQ progression, how you level jobs, etc.)

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.

    I see.

To be clear, since I started the thread:
My stance is it would be nice to have the following account wide:

    -Mounts
    -Minions
    -Triple Triad Cards
    -Emotes
    -Hairstyles
-Titles (Maybe, I can go either way on this since some titles should only be on the character that earned them)
-Mogstation Purchases (except for Eternal Bond, fantasias, dyes, story skips and level skips)

Quicker leveling on alt characters can already be done if you roll on a server running the Road buff and if that's not fast enough, the option to skip with real money from Mogstation is there. Most games only give major skips for money, the exception being Guild Wars 2 but that game has horizontal progression and leveling is the tutorial so it's really its own thing. Leveling alt JOBS on a main is already doable with the armory bonus. If any skip should be done for alt characters on the same account it should be something like Relic, where they are able to tackle weapons with shorter grinds equivalent to your main's weapons for alt jobs and only if the main has already done everything.

It's only chonky for kill XP. Compared to MSQ quest XP it's rather anemic which is one of the reasons why running dungeons outside of leveling roulette feels like a slog IMO.

By chonky, I meant more the fact that the armory bonus is a +100%, so doubles the base XP on anything it applies to; percentage-wise, that's chonky.

But yes, compared to MSQ XP, almost everything feels anemic. The armory bonus (plus anything else you stack) just makes it less anemic.
