No, but much like in the real world, the passive people get walked over, while the a-hole who calls customer service gets what he/she wants. Now, if being a pessimist is considered being a jerk, then I'm a jerk.

Now I'm cool, you are cool, we all are cool now. World keeps spinning.

It's not being passive to be encouraging in order to get what one wants. I find that it works out better than annoying the pants off the person in question.

i do love the double standards that exist on these forums.
I don't think he was rude at all. I think he handled things the best way he could, by explaining why it is a good idea to encourage him to make the changes we want, instead of yelling at him and insulting him. He is right, the previous method does tend to work better, and it continues to work long after the latter fails (due to stress and frustration).

Casting while moving has never been a healthy feature whether it's PvP or PvE, magic is simply supposed to be powerful and it's simply supposed to be a concentrated matter. The key is not to implement a casting-while-moving feature, but instead as in FFXI, there should be a casting interruption rate that would be governed by various stats and also force one to stop to cast any big spells, like others have suggested in this thread.

Personally, I think a push-back system would be best. When you get hit, your cast bar is pushed back a certain number of ticks, but the spell isn't completely negated. After a certain number of hits, the spell would no longer suffer from push-backs and would just go off.

When spells are interrupted from an attack, it really hurts solo play the most. In an ideal party, the ranged casters shouldn't be getting hit much, but a solo caster is always going to get hit. Their magic is their only real means of attack. As such, a push-back system would work much better at penalizing players who neglect to use their shield spells, without completely destroying the potential of being able to solo effectively.
