    The problem ISN'T healers rotation is busted or boring...

    The problem is enemies/bosses completely invalidate healers.

    They just don't hit hard enough.

    When a tank "buster" hit's my warrior for 10% of my HP ( 90k HP or something like that)...one button completely invalidates a healer....bloodwhetting or equilibrium. Don't worry healer...I got this...continue DPSING....

    the healer *sighs* as there is no immediate danger.

    If that tank buster hit me for 75% or 80% of my HP...well....now we're talking....equilibrium won't even come close to healing 70k...i'll need help.

    Yes a big problem for healers is that the "rotation" is boring. The fights are so very scripted, that even with more stringent healing checks there would be at best slightly more optimization on oGCDs and at best a few GCDs. That wouldn't solve the underlying issue of finding every window you possibly can to spam that one dps spell.

    And veteran healers saw what you're talking about a mile away. SE says they're going to increase healing requirements but they never do in a substantial way.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    Sure sure these should be more threatening especially without the cooldowns but I hate to break this news..

    My order of operations would likely be;

    Hmm, should I bene? Well, the raidwide is coming soon and my aoe heals will catch the tank too. Passive healing should resolve the rest and their bloodwhetting will be off cooldown again too. Alright! *glare* > *indulgence* > *rapture* > *assize + asylum*. All good! If the timing is good miiiight help mit both raidwide and buster with a slightly early temperance or if assize did not line up I can boost Rapture with it.

    I mean their rotation is boring as shit, but I see what you're trying to say. For example Xenosys Vex just did a blind run on the new dungeon (I know it's not Savage or Ult) with a WAR tank and 3 dps. They didn't need a healer, how sad is that? Brand new dungeon and healer wasn't even needed.
