Back in time you could talk but it ended up only used just in toxicity and writing a book to teammates mid match![]()
Well this is what happens when folks complain about premades. They've basically killed any meaningful form of that. The mode itself is super fun though
Because really strong premades that have communication apps and can speak past the game(Voice Chat Apps) can make it a REALLY, REALLY easy experience for them vs. a player base that largely finds PvP barely worth it because of how stringent it used to be when it comes to Ranked. They came a long way changing to CC, and I'm funnily enough enjoying it even when I was playing PvP in HW, SB, and ShB. It's interesting and provides high octane matches.
As far as things go, yeah it'll be a Flavor of the Month thing and be gone once GARO is finished.
For real.. My group was stoked to at least play casual matches as a group, but now we probably won't touch it after this first week...
How I would fix it: Make it so when queuing for a Crystalline Conflict match, your party must match one of the following configurations:
* Solo (The way it works now)
* Party of exactly 5 players (You will be matched against another 5-player party)
* Alliance of two 5-player parties (Casual matches only, the 2 parties will be matched against each other, no rewards will be given)
I disagreeIt's beyond bad IMO
Not only do they make it solo queue only, which is painful, but it's not role locked. Going against a team with 2 tanks and a healer while you have 5 dps? GG's, it's already over. AND they took away some of the quick chat options to get your team on the same page before the round start to actually kill the healer.
Like, just remove ranked, because there is nothing competitive or redeeming about that mode if you wont let teams communicate or have a comp that can realistically compete.
no party comp is a guaranteed win you can win with 5 dps easily
you can shred tank/healers and overwhelm them with ease even just as a single DPS.
I think this mode is fun but it does still need some work.
Not being able to play with friends in an MMO is just a baffling decision to me. They will probably add it eventually, but it'll be like 6 months from now when the PvP mode is dead because people have moved on.
I feel like SE is pretty notorious at this point for adding something cool/requested/whatever, but do it in such a way that the basic, expected aspects are really poorly thought out. I don't know why.
Just queue frontlines if you want to PVP with a group that bad. Again, team ranked mode existed in the past, but did not do well due to the low participation. They MIGHT implement it again if the mode stays popular enough, but I assume SE did not want new teams with hardly any experience to get stomped by the veteran players that already dominate the top of the placements.
As for no chat, again a tried and failed. Besides, matches are 5min long. I really don't need someone taking 30sec out of 5min to type an essay on why they think we are losing, only for the person they will likely blame to also take 30sec to write a reply.
With communication, sure, since they took away all possibility to coordinate anything with teammates, no 5 dps is beating a healer/tank combo unless the healer/tank don't know what they are doing in the first place
Except when they do, which happens even at the "higher ranks".
