For those complaining that everyone should get permanent, never to be removed from the game, housing, with no increase in subscription fees to, say, US$20 per month, good luck convincing any company that there should be the potential for 25 million (at last count) players in a game to each have it on multiple characters on multiple worlds.

I suppose that the computer hardware necessary to create such a satisfactory solution could all come with GPUs that could be used for Bitcoin mining while the housing is online.

You do no there are Buy2Win games like ESO that allow you to purchase your own land to own forever with real money. I would like that option here as well
