I do support if SE stepped up and designed a system that allows ALL to own a home after YEARS of letting so many players down.

I do support vastly expanding instanced housing (apartment as a guide and template) to allow for instanced interior home sizes of S, M, L + possibly XL with NO DEMOLITION + larger item limits, indoor sunroom for gardens etc

Time to stop punishing/disagreeing with each other and start insisting SE implements the fix.

At least clicking a sign I can see the amount of people around me, sometimes 1-10ish, with the lottery, everyone will put their name in. Honesty, the chances of winning is slim to none with a lottery, but someone at least will win.

My wish came true. No clicking or placard rushing for 6.1 release. I'm all good.

I have a FC and a personal home. I'd like to upgrade the FC, but won't flip out if I can't, and I'd be totally fine with those that are homeless winning over me.

See this is the reason I believe players who ALREADY owns a house shouldn’t be in the lottery. You own a house and you also get to put in a lottery, where say I do not own a house and I get one lottery ticket. If you lose, oh well…you STILL have your house!

Oh, sure I heard the argument, that nothing gets hurt because you are swapping one house for another, while I say you are wasting my time of at least 9 to 18 days. I lose out, you win, you old house goes on the market in the NEXT lottery and now not only are there going to be more people in the lottery, we have to wait another 9 days.

Oddly enough, yes.

For every one person that is content with their personal / FC house locations, there are 9 others that aren't. While I can understand your frustration and why you've taken the stance you have, it is also counter-productive. If what you recommend goes into effect, then there will come a problem.

People will separate into two camps. Those that want a house and don't care what plot it is and those that want a house in a desirable spot. what constitutes the plot being "desirable" changes from person to person, but with only one lottery entry per character (or account, whichever.) it means they go from clicking placards all the time to.. Doing nothing. Looking through the houses until a vacant one shows up in a plot they want and then screaming that they didn't get it, because they were against 3,000 other people all vying for the "desirable" plot.

I will simply say this. There is a reason people used to recommend looking at The Goblet's lower levels. People buy a house in an undesirable spot, then move when they are able to. It is a system that, sadly, no longer works due to Relocation-bypass no longer being a thing. (I'm glad it isn't, but will still miss it either way.)

Punishing those who have a house for wanting a more desirable plot is unfair. Punishing FCs who want a new change of scenery is unfair.

My personal is a plot 29 in LB. I'm not giving that up. I love it and for just little old me, a small will suffice.

I would like to upgrade our FC house, as it's also a small. We're a family guild, but we play daily and the play-styles vary enough that having a bigger place would really be the optimum choice. If we win one, the home we have will be up for grabs for the next player or FC. Yeah, I do think that's fair.

However, as I have already stated- I wouldn't grumble or moan if I lost- because ultimately I have something. It's small and crowded, but it's ours and we can and will make do. The plots I have/my FC has weren't handed to us. We put in the hours, over months to get them instead of enjoying the game- which btw, a few of us just celebrated our year anniversary last month. Housing was what drew my interest to the game, so I made that my priority once I was eligible and had enough gil saved.

I won't say getting a plot is easy with the system we have now- it's far from not, but it is what it is. I survived it, and while I'm happy to take a backseat to those who haven't had the joy of getting a house yet if that's what the lottery mechanics were to demand, no, I do not think I should be excluded totally from upgrading for my FC if I have the gil to do so and the system allows for it.
