I dont think he'll be back any time soon but you are kidding yourselves if you think a punch to the chin is what kills him

^This. Zenos is finally dead and gone. It's subtle butif you watch the scene after the final battle with him (after Zenos and the WoL beat each other up), Zenos's breathing becomes increasingly shallow, and he manages to pant out a final "I....." before cutting out mid sentence. The camera even concentrates on his chest which is subtly rising and falling... before even that stops, showing he's stopped breathing, and then becomes completely motionless from them on. And it wasn't just the injuries the WoL gave him in the battle and their final fitsticuffs either, he was consuming his own life and soul to fight there and even with his Resonant powers, it wasn't infinite, so he was basically just running on fumes by that stage (even after using the last remnants of the Mothercrystal to become Shinryu, I'm sure he was also consuming his own life while in that form as well which would not have helped).
He even outright stated just before his duel that he was going to completely "burn through the candle of his life" in order to go full-out with the WoL, so he basically consumed his entire aether and life in order to have his last glorious final battle, and with his defeat, even his Resonant power couldn't save him anymore, especially at the edge of the universe where they were, where there was no one to jump his soul to, and so he just... expired. The WoL very nearly suffered the same fate except of course they were saved by a deus ex machina (and a lot of healing from Alphinaud, Urianger and G'raha).
So yeah, he's dead, gone and left to rot at the edge of creation, forgotten, unloved and unmourned. Good riddance.
Zenos isn't dead and you're fools for believing Ishikawa would kill a character. He's probably going to have some, redemption arc stint where he learns a new meaning to life and that fighting isn't all the world has to offer~ or something.
He's already decayed inside Meteion's nest... I don't think there's any Ascians left to resurrect him? Even so, he already get what he wants...
He died satisfied after testing our reflexes. Now he's at the same place as Mr. Sloppy where you can spam you battle lines for all eternity.
Good for him, but it creeps me out that you get the message that the WoL is doing the same. He can throw it all away, but I need that strength still to return to everyone who is waiting for me.
They really shouldn't bring him back, he was a really interesting/annoying character that should have died in Stormblood and his plot pretty much went nowhere. He was basically an attempt to be the "Blue/Gary" to your "Red/Ash", with the same kind of "I'm better then everyone" obnoxious personality, while channelling the edge and looks of Sephiroth without the mummy issues. He is better off dead and buried at this point.
It's been stated by Yoshida that he didn't like the direction of Zenos and acknowledges how we felt about it, but all things considering, story wise, Zenos was simply looking for someone worthy of giving him a good death and he got it. I think he is satisfied and can rest in peace.
I was hoping the ‘Zenos is…’ would have ended with ‘thicc’.
Irreparably disappointed.
I actually see it completely differently. Etheirys is what the Ancients called it when it was still their unsundered planet. We never knew our planet as anything but Hydaelyn and the Ancients are a thing of the past, their age is over.
So why should we suddenly adopt their name for it? Just because they told us? We don't use Gaia, Jöro, Ki, Geb or Tierra as names for our Earth just because people in the past called it that.
And who knows, maybe there are races in XIV that call it something completely different yet again, we just haven't encountered them.
