My problem with FFXIV is it is your standard MMO and I am sick of this model. For example you can completely strip away the entire leveling process give everyone level whatever the max is and you would have the SAME GAME specially sense everything is gated by MSQ which can be bypassed. I refuse to play for hours or days for a story.
You could make the leveling be done with gear but gear in this game is useless as it is heavily dependent on ilevel which is beyond stupid. Of course this wouldn't work in this game because of the stat ilevel.
Another problem I have in this game is the dungeons. They are ALL the same. Wall to wall pulls, aoe, boss and repeat. All for currency to buy gear with a higher ilevel. Repeat this for however many jobs you have and wait till next expansion to do it again.
Lots of people say endwalker was going to be good and was adding new stuff but none of it was new you added jobs, new zones, new raids and new quests. This is exactly the same thing that was added in every expansion. So what was "New". I see nothing original or ground breaking. This was all done before.
Bottom line for me this game does not have any excitement other then the sex appeal from glamours and the nostalgia from old final fantasy games. There is way more excitement in games such as Albion online and Dark Soul genre games. I for one can not wait for Elden Ring.
I did try to play this game have all expansion and endwalker but I cannot play this game as it is really boring to play. The story is not enough for me to play this. I dont care how good it is. It should have been a movie or a book not a game.

So basically he wants feedback, even negative feedback, to be civil and constructive. I think that is perfectly reasonable. I realize that it can be hard sometimes, especially when there are changes that people feel strongly about (even I'm guilty sometimes depending on the subject), but overall I don't think Yoshi P is making a huge ask here.
You're right, that was deceptive. Now I've confirmed that long as I can say hurtful things without breaking ToS-and believe me, some forumers have been pretty expert at that- it's fine.
Big Yikes.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
I think we are back to what everyone consider to be toxic. In this game for a while being blunt or dry seems to be equivalent of being toxic.I'll confess, I'm not sure why you're quoting me when my point was a general statement and not directed at anyone in particular - or why there's an attempt to frame an acknowledgement of nuance as some grave sin or reasonable point. Furthermore, please do feel free to show me where I excused abuse given that I specifically stated in my post that the terms of service should be adhered to.
An example: person X is failing mechanic Y and wiping the party a few times in a row.
Blunt: Hey X, you are doing that wrong. Do this instead.
Toxic: OMG you piece of sxxx stop wiping us and learn to play!
As right now both are considered actionable if reported. To me makes no sense and I consider it a good example of tone policing that always rubbed me the wrong way. Even if in game I'm the type of person that will try to be as nice as possible.
Frankly, this.
All of these posts saying "well, if everyone else were just better, then Yoshi-P and the devs would like us more" seem to be made without the awareness that there has been a severe lack of engagement on these forums for a long time, and much of the continuous trolling, bashing, and the aggravated posts are due to a lack of engagement and moderation on the team's part (as well as a lack of a clear place to provide grievances/feedback). Not that I don't think some people are particularly sensitive, or that it would solve everything, but I guarantee that people would generally be more polite on these particular forums if they at least believed these particular forums were being looked at and interacted with.
Meanwhile, the broad "go work a customer service job" statements really don't mean anything. For one thing, a normal customer service job puts you into one-on-one situations, and most customer service jobs would never have you interacting with anywhere near as many people as the entire population of an MMO (or even the audience for a radio show, for that matter). For another thing, if working in a customer service job would teach anything, it's that everything is a problem until it isn't, and that it's better to be proactive in handling the more expected issues, while offering understanding with frustrations and learning how to offer solutions to a wide array of different people in the given one-on-one setting.
Also, let's be honest: very few people are going to be searching for morals in their workplace. The average person would just be too busy to care.

I forgo the "Hey X" and just say "Anyone need an explanation or elaboration on that mechanic?". Sometimes the guilty party will speak up, often times it will be someone else who wasn't failing the mechanic so we go into an explanation. That tends to work better, and tends to be a surefire way to ensure that they can't file a report for "harassment" by calling them out for failing mechanics.I think we are back to what everyone consider to be toxic. Well because they always communicate in Japanese, yes agreed u could argue that without a separate translator it’s only targeted at jp community. But also that yoshi-p could have made the distinction to target specifically the Japanese forum as every Japanese info bit always also get’s translated to English by the community.
EQ, EQ2, Darkfall, hardcore MMORPG player. After 15 year break returning as a casual player taking it slow this time.
You're free to believe as such if you so wish, though that wasn't at all what I stated or implied in my post and I daresay that there's no shortage of individuals in the current era who rather than admit that they jumped to conclusions or misread something will instead double down and pretend as if their perceived opposition is completely unreasonable.
