Instead what happens is these threads will go for weeks, months or even years at a time with nary a peep from anyone up top whatsoever. Not even so much as a "thank you for your feedback" tossed their way. For all intents and purposes it feels like yelling into a void where you have absolutely no idea if even one community rep is looking in on them. As a result, frustration continues to mount and tensions build up as posters feel like their issues are going completely unheard. Throw in a few bad actors trying to get a rise out of others and eventually it reaches a boiling point.
I do absolutely agree that there should be much, much, much more actual official communication on the English speaking side of things. In fact, if I had one personal critique of the FF14 development team it would be that while they rather frequently do talk at us, they almost never actually talk to/with us (or even to/with us via community representatives like content creators outside of rare media events). But, that said, I don't really know if them simply acknowledging things would be all that helpful. Without more detailed responses, there are an unfortunately many players who will take basic acknowledgements as promises or as open ended commitments the developers are going to do whatever they wanted them to do. It might be better but I can see why the developers might not see it that way.
