You're right, that was deceptive. Now I've confirmed that long as I can say hurtful things without breaking ToS-and believe me, some forumers have been pretty expert at that- it's fine.
Big Yikes.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
You're free to believe as such if you so wish, though that wasn't at all what I stated or implied in my post and I daresay that there's no shortage of individuals in the current era who rather than admit that they jumped to conclusions or misread something will instead double down and pretend as if their perceived opposition is completely unreasonable.
There's way too many in here dismissing this as "well that's just Japan players". No, you need to get it under control too. None of you are above what he's saying. Do you know how many posts I've seen where someone says they hope the staff is ok and immediately after someone starts throwing a tantrum, spouting off all kinds of insults and going "they're trillionares! stop caring about them you stinky fanboy! this is all about money, go whiteknight devs somewhere else" like? You know what, you're more than welcome to be miserable. But stop putting people down because you can't physically see them and stop attacking people that dare say anything nice about them too. Everyone wants to say what they're doing wrong, but can't provide a constructive idea to save their life. They just want to complain and then act innocent. "W-w-well..it's not like they can see what I'm saying...surely if it gets translated, they p-put it nicer w-words right??" No. No, they probably don't. They likely do translate it though. NA is a huge money maker, you're out of your mind if you think they completely disregard every single thing all of you are saying. Like, wake up lmao. The denial people put themselves in just to justify lashing out is mental to me. Either don't do it, or do it and acknowledge that you don't care how it makes anyone feel because you'd rather hurt others than go see a therapist or go outside and walk it off like a normal person would. Jeez.

This.Like this guy. Calling a desire to want less vitriol and toxicity "tone policing". It's not a bad thing to want people to express their opinions in respectful ways, and as much as you're trying to use "tone policing" to paint it in a negative light, some forms of expressing opinions SHOULD be policed, such as those that demean and dehumanize the person at the other end.
Asking people not to abuse a company’s staff is not ‘tone policing’. Somehow I don’t think they’re going to start banning people for giving genuine feedback. I mean, even if it’s not (how do you even determine ‘genuine’ anyway), as long as it isn’t abusing, harrassing or otherwise insulting I can’t see there being any repercussions.
I also agree with the sentiment mentioned before that I doubt this is about one specific section of the player base (JP). And even if it was, that doesn’t mean we can’t reflect on the point being made and the extent to which it applies to us, because by god do we need to

If only they had community managers to read and filter the feedback and maybe even comment here sometimes. It would be wise to preserve the sanity and motivation of the main development team.

Frankly, this.
All of these posts saying "well, if everyone else were just better, then Yoshi-P and the devs would like us more" seem to be made without the awareness that there has been a severe lack of engagement on these forums for a long time, and much of the continuous trolling, bashing, and the aggravated posts are due to a lack of engagement and moderation on the team's part (as well as a lack of a clear place to provide grievances/feedback). Not that I don't think some people are particularly sensitive, or that it would solve everything, but I guarantee that people would generally be more polite on these particular forums if they at least believed these particular forums were being looked at and interacted with.
Meanwhile, the broad "go work a customer service job" statements really don't mean anything. For one thing, a normal customer service job puts you into one-on-one situations, and most customer service jobs would never have you interacting with anywhere near as many people as the entire population of an MMO (or even the audience for a radio show, for that matter). For another thing, if working in a customer service job would teach anything, it's that everything is a problem until it isn't, and that it's better to be proactive in handling the more expected issues, while offering understanding with frustrations and learning how to offer solutions to a wide array of different people in the given one-on-one setting.
Also, let's be honest: very few people are going to be searching for morals in their workplace. The average person would just be too busy to care.

Agreed, the more people feel ignored the more likely they are to lash out. It gets worse when Jobs have longstanding issues that go unaddressed for years and the frustration just builds and builds. Take DRK for example, people have been complaining about Living Dead since the launch of Heavensward over six years ago, still no response and all feedback ignored. Over two years of people commenting on Blood Weapon and how it doesn't work well with DRK's AoE Spells and how ping dependent it is, Yoshi-P said his team has received zero feedback on the issue during the Media Tour and no changes have been made to the ability. MCH's Heat Blast is in the same boat with the ping issues. It feels like the SE employees who read the forums don't exist, and there's never any acknowledgement that they're reading and passing along our feedback. How often does the dev team create threads saying "hey, put your feedback here"? How often does the dev team put out blog posts on The Lodestone talking about Job issues that the community is raising? Basically never. At best we'll occasionally get Yoshi-P giving a small interview where he says "yes we read all feedback" but it's hard to believe that at times. It's genuinely frustrating feeling ignored, but that's where I'm at, as are a lot of other people, and I wish the devs were more active in communicating with the player base on the forums or through the developer's blog.Frankly, this.

Folks that think it's ok to be rude and demanding when submitting "feedback" - just go work in Retail/F&B/Service industry for a few years and enjoy a taste of your own medicine![]()

I'm sure some are already in those industries you've mentioned. Its just a lot easier to be rude online.

Really sad to read this statement. Some people can't communicate politely it seems. We may not see each other on the internet, but theres a human being behind the text being written. Let's not forget that.
Dunno about you but i was able to see the heart and soul being put into 6.0.
