Said it a long time ago but I think FFXIV should have addons, perhaps like an apple store if they want some tighter control (like over what parsers can do). It took longer than I expected but we really have many of the mods that people are afraid of in FFXIV already, like there is a very parallel existence to many major WoW addons for FFXIV.
Very much a FFXI windower like situation, with a lot of people using it and in some use cases literally doing better because of it. It would be nice if it was more open, but I guess that's just my opinion lol. Parse shaming could still be a bannable offense, and if SE had a 'store' then they could even put rules or restrictions on parsing (like you can parse your own data, but not other players). Though of course running an apple like store would take resources from them, that's not great. Yet still as I said very much the vast majority of, and the most influential tools of WoW, have very real counterparts in this game. Just here you know for sure console players wont get to enjoy them, and some players might be doing better than others for it.
If I recall correctly there was a tool that allowed people to put items in their house however they wanted, a HUGE qol, but it was causing problems outdoors as people were floating outdoor objects and posts were made here in the forums because of it. So the tool author restricted that outdoor feature. I sincerely think regardless of whatever else said here that SE should add unrestricted placement in housing (indoors only).
From what I've read, from reddit, so not hard to obtain info- it works by reducing a hardcoded delay in the game and could be easily considered a cheat if you had inappropriate values. Also from what I've read people who do have delays really appreciate the tool. For reference I've never used it, as luckily I've got a pretty good connection to server.
