I really wish people would stop talking about Dreadlocks as if they're a '' black thing ''.
Dreadlocks were common in Europe since way before they became associated with black people, particularly in Central and Northren Europe.
And the oldest depictions of them are from Egypt and Greece.
Just as a side note because these associations leads to some really dumb shit where people get mad at '' white people '' ( a dumb overly-generalized term to begin with ) for having certain hairstyles.
Dreads aren't '' afro hair '' and never have been.
A ton of people in Europe wore it way before they even came in contact with black people.
For the most part I agree but some of the textures in GW2 are honestly pretty bad.
It's not as noticeable on those pics but ingame it's very obvious that there's a very clear difference some of them look really rushed and weird.
It kinda goes into the texturing thing.
Honestly some of those hairstyles ingame looks like someone pooped on their heads, again it's not as noticeable in these screenshots but ingame it's really noticeable.
They sorta look like they belong to Guild Wars instead of Guild Wars 2, they could really use an update.

I love GW2's face, skin, and hair options. Not only an amazing spectrum of representation, but also many of the options are really sexy. IMO the best range and quality of character design options (and especially human models) in any MMO on the market.
Still waiting for more longer hair style options. I don't care if they clip. I'll work around it like I do the current styles.
I'm team-Asura, so I don't have the option to use them myself, but from what I've seen I would agree that some of the styles could use some love. :X I guess there is room for discussion if it's better to have something be attempted in a not-so-perfect way, or if it's better to just not have it for risk of insulting people. For the most part I agree but some of the textures in GW2 are honestly pretty bad.

I think SE has a set style they're going for, and they are a Japanese gaming company, so I can sort of understand the lack of more ethnic options.
lol. We have so many styles that, imo, look way too similar to exist together. All those short, choppy things....how many more will we get D:
I remember when I went to the 2016 FanFest, someone asked if we can get curly hair in game. Yoshi’s reply was wait for PS5. Well, PS5 is technically here, so if he keeps his word, maybe soon.
Please, yes.
(Though, admittedly, given all the clipping and weird-hair-physics issue this game engine has, I'm half afraid they wouldn't be able to make good curly hair...)
I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer

I'm expecting limsa to be 80% disco dancing characters by the end of all this lol!

There's nothing bad about someone mentioning their race. They were speaking about how relative it is to them to have hair that represents them. It shouldn't even bother you enough to make a post about it.

Most of those imo look like trash.
The problem with this style of hair is that games never do it justice and it looks like trash.
