It's meh. Like, at the most it's... okay?
I have an afro myself and the curl pattern texture reminds of of 4c hair - which I have.
It's admittedly accurate and can be very malleable style wise. But I think looser curl patterns would be ideal.
The Gold Saucer afro looks like someone made it after only hearing about how it should look from the time their cousin's sister's roommate saw one while passing in traffic.
Statistics shows that nobody uses those in games and business people see it as a loss
I think it has more to do with curly hair and afros are pain to do properly especially with the limited graphic / rendering capabilities of the engine in FFXIV. Such hair styles are not easy especially afros often they come off looking cartoonish at best.
I think GW2 has done a good job with adding some nice variety to their character creation.
For better or worse, I don't see SE really changing their tune much as far as character/hair design goes, but it never hurts to keep pushing the request.
That confuses me. As African hair is naturally very stiff. The reason we're able to style if so effectively in braids, for example, is because it's not as loose as hair that tend to produce a copious amount of natural oils.
It feels like its easier to produce rigid models in comparison to hair that actively shifts about. Which we have in abundance at the moment.
Of course I'm not a game developer. So maybe braids are beyond their capabilities. I'm just confused on why other MMO's can manage it but FFXIV somehow can't.
Hair or fur in general, not just curly textured, I've heard, can be difficult to model graphically. But anyway, I think having more options for cosmetics would be awesome! I fully support this idea and I think SE could do it.That confuses me. As African hair is naturally very stiff. I am sure it could be done but more so that it may not just be within their experience. For the most part for every guild wars 2 option you two of our joke Afro option. Also not not be worth the time and money to put in such options since maybe their metrics show that it will not be worth the time investment. That confuses me. As African hair is naturally very stiff. The world may never know.
