Download the tar.gz package from Github (search for DXVK, scroll down for releases), extract the files using for example 7-zip. Copy the d3d11.dll and dxgi.dll files to the FFXIV "game" folder (same place as the ffxiv_dx11.exe) Windows should prioritize dll files placed in the same folder as the exe so no further setup is needed.

DXVK was actually mentioned by someone else on this forum so I can't take credit for it, fixed whatever issues I had though (no crashes for weeks using it but crashed again within a few hours of trying to play normally).

I don't see why S-E would take issue with using it but I know other games with automatic systems in place that detect these things, have played for a while now so it's probably safe...

It's technically modifying game files so it's against TOS. It's like the Cosmetic mods that only change what you see. They are against TOS but as long as you don't talk about it they wont do anything about it.

because it modifies the files, which is TOS. but hey if it works it works, not that they could do anything about it since it's all local. unless SE installs something that reads your files and reports it back to the servers. this has been a problem for years that the dev team doesn't seem to want to acknowledge/do anything about, so if this helps might be worth a try for some folk.

No, it does not modify the game files. DXVK is an API wrapper. It translates Direct3D API calls to Vulkan API calls.

    Cheers
