Huh? Wat? That is next level nonsense if true.. DXVK does not modify the game it is translation layer and necessary if playing on something like Linux. I.. cannot even. I did a clean install of Windows 11 and my issue has not re-occurred since then.

Still needs to be fixed. Shouldn't have to clean install Windows for a games bug.

So another DX11 11000002 error with the following changes:

Disable Fullscreen Optimization on ffxiv_dx11.exe
Lowering graphical settings to Standard (Desktop) (which turns off reflections/SSAO)
Capping FPS to 1/2 refresh rate (goes down to 82)

Next test:

Borderless Windows ONLY

Some stats for the crash:

CPU Temp Max: 60C
RAM Temp Max (Across 4 Banks): 52C
GPU Temp Max: 70C
GPU Utilization: 56%
Chipset Max: 66C

For reference, all of these stats are lower than the stress test values above. I will say that it took a couple of days before it happened again. Also, this was always done during streaming so other software being used at the same time is:

Remaining tests:

Lower RAM to 2133 MHz even though it passes TM5/Furmark brutal tests
Lowering FPS further
Extending tdrdelay (gives more time for AMD Driver to recover)

And before anyone suggests a bunch of red herrings: latest video and audio drivers, no overlays whatsoever, overclocking turned off makes no difference, nor does installation drive, and I don't use a multichannel headset (stereo headphones only) whatsoever.

I've gotten crashes in multiple locations, but major cities tend to be the worst offender, often to the point that I can't even get back on without erroring out during loading.

It's technically modifying game files so it's against TOS. It's like the Cosmetic mods that only change what you see. They are against TOS but as long as you don't talk about it they wont do anything about it.

It's a transition layer between DirectX and Vulkan. It doesn't modify the game code at all, nor even come close to touching it. Please learn about something before presenting misinformation.

Unfortunately, DXVK doesn't work for me in this case, despite having a useful impact in other games; FFXIV reports running at 90 frames (where I have it locked), but the frametiming is all wrong, and it feels more like it's running at 30. It's pretty rare I get any errors at this point. The game simply stopped launching. DX11 it's guaranteed to close itself as soon as I press "Start", and in DX9 I can get into the game maybe 1/3 tries. When I am in game on DX9 some NPCs and locations don't load, and most large monsters like dungeon bosses and fate bosses do not load.

I too have a 3060 and pretty much getting the same error as you. As of 6.01, every time I hit launch, I get dx11 errors before it gets past the age rating. The weird thing is, I can play with the game with error itself pushed to the corner of the screen... I just have zero sound. DX9 crashes in highly populated areas.

It's been like this for 5 years if not more. Every time someone posts issues with DX11, a "support person" will give you a standardized autoreply with "Post system info" after that's been done they will respond with "clean boot, reinstall the game" and that's it. This needs to be addressed through someone with influence, I hate saying that but it's the only way to get a response from the actual developer, not the support who has given the same response for 5 years. We need someone like Asmongold *shudder* or even some of the larger FF14 streamers like Zepla to bring this to their attention, because the actual developers don't read these threads. YoshiP talks about transparency but has NEVER addressed this issue and it's been going on for years and there's no solution that works. At this moment there are about 500 threads just from the past 2 years with 1000 responses, but still nothing official from SE.
I bought another computer! With different hardware, went from AMD to Intel/Nvidia, and guess what? It worked for 2 days and then I got the exact same issues! On two completely different hardware, unaltered software, no launchers, no Gshade, or anything like that.

Also, the Vulkan fix doesn't work on either of my machines, I get 10 FPS when running the game with Vulkan. But to be honest, Square needs to look into this! Actually, look into this! Because it's their DX implementation that's broken and conflicts with all kinds of different hardware, like wireless headsets. Either scrap the DX completely and rework the game to run with Vulkan/OpenGL or upgrade it to DX12, but honestly that would most likely just give you DX12 errors.

I'm about to make a change.org at this point I swear. We've never seen an official and serious response to this issue. It's so random and affects all types of gear.
