That may be another thing causing confusion. People assert motive to what people say. If it was a face to face conversation, the facial and body expressions help out the comprehension of conversations.
On here, its straight up text. So people can easily take 1 thing that was said like you did, and take it as I was meaning to be a smart @ss, but actually I was being totally genuine.
Jokes aside text communication really can be taken out of context. And unfortunately it does lead to animosity. Deep breaths everyone....
Cool, calm, and collected.
Actually, I've made absolutely certain to reply to the entirety of your post. I don't cherry-pick. I greatly dislike when people cherry-pick me, so I don't do it to others. You'll notice I took care to reply to your entire post. Did it the first time I posted, too. You're repeating yourself because people are contradicting what you are saying, and instead of taking what they're saying and restating, you've ended up in a position where your stance isn't all that strong. You keep talking about procurement and how easy it is, but your entire solution to the issue is just to throw money at it; which is, as you can probably guess at this point, incredibly entitled. You're demanding they spend money without any personal knowledge as to their actual budget or efforts. It doesn't satisfy you, and you're not happy. You offer no other solutions, you just tell them it's unacceptable. I'm not sure about you, but if someone tells me that something out of my control is unacceptable and I have done my best to alleviate it, that person telling me it wasn't good enough doesn't make me want to do anything faster. It doesn't help anything, and I'd really like to hope you understand that.I am aware of my so called "entitlements" you've so eloquently laid out for me. But as I discussed early with the IT industry lady, I will continue to do what I see fit and engage with who I see fit until Ive ended it. I feel like I have to keep repeating myself because the people jumping on me only read the quoted portions they are apart of.
Do you enjoy long queue times? If your answer is no, then going on the forums and expressing your concerns and frustrations is what you are supposed to do. How else is SE supposed to judge how severe this situation without judging the publics reaction. In my OP, I was frustrated, but respectable. YOU people started jumping on me with delusions of entitlements when I was simply doing what gamers are supposed to do.
I will agree that some of the "nerd rage" posts are whiny. But honestly, try to think of me as an ok human being, was my OP a spoiled entitled child whining? If your answer is yes to this, I can't have a legitimate conversation with you anymore.
Do I enjoy long queues? I have no strong feelings either way. I have a lot of things I can do while waiting for the queue to go down - Phasmo has an update out that I'm eager to play, I have plenty of community and role-play things to update while I'm waiting, I've got a really fluffy cat that likes to be brushed and cuddled, or I can just mellow and watch some streams for games that interest me outside of my MMO experience. I do the exact same things that I would be doing if I was standing in line anywhere else - I can't avoid the line, but I can entertain myself while I'm in it. As it is? I got free game time while sitting in line with everyone else. As far as I'm concerned, it wasn't necessary but quite nice, and I'll enjoy those days when I can play. If there's more days? Cool. I've been in queues more than I've been able to play, but I've greatly enjoyed what I've done so far. It's been very fun, for me, to listen to others. They're excited, and I'll be able to share in that excitement soon.
I'm glad you're able to play the game, and hope you enjoy it, though I'm certainly not blind to you responding to others in the thread in spite of you getting in. You don't need to make an excuse as to why you don't wish to engage with me; you are responding to shorter posts that are similar to mine, and those that are long but defend your point of view. I'm well aware I'm wordy, but I like to make sure I'm clear.I am honestly trying to have a discussion with you, but this is too much. Im am actually able to log into FF14 for once, but not going to read all this. My apologies.
I didn't lie, nor did I twist anything. Again, you are claiming something is unacceptable. This something is something that you have no control over. You offer no solutions other than to throw money that isn't yours to throw at a problem that is greater than your playtime. You do sound spoiled, yes. You also show a base lack of empathy; things happen. Queues happen (in fact, there's always a tiny queue of 30 or so on my server at primetime, not counting the current launch situation), crashes happen, sometimes things just happen.I did catch the I'm not being respectful in past posts. I give respect to people who give me respect. When people lie and try to twist my OP into some delusional spoiled brat entitled nerdrage, I'm going on the defensive. Simple as that. I start every conversation with respect. If someone starts off insulting me, all bets are off for a respectful manner goes out the window. Im also not "name calling," im describing their behavior.
I'd be upset if these things were happening and we were getting radio silence, sure. We aren't, however. They've been very transparent and informational. The servers are not an option at this moment. The shortage no longer matters - it is too late to get those servers in and set up. So, they are doing what they can and what is in their power to do. To me, that is very acceptable.

Im gathering wood and have been for the past 2 hours. All the other posts were of reasonable size to me. Also, Im a quick typer but not a fast reader. From this alone, I greatly question your claim that you are in charge of procuring IT hardware. The shortages are just that. SHORTAGES. They are out there. Granted, the cost may be 5x, 10x, or even 20x the normal price, but they are out there. With all the money they've received from the WoW migration, that was their first red flag. Then when preorders launched, that was their second. Fast forward to today, here we are. Another expansion release, even worse queue lines that normal. FF14 claimed this hasnt been the first time this occured. This has happened with every expansion. So what else is the consumer supposed to think other than they aren't fixing the issue.
Theres also reasons why companies spend 100k+ dollars on public relations. Its to coerce consumers into acceptance. The shortage excuse is just that. They have the money to buy the hardware they require, they just dont want to pay the ridiculous skyrocketing prices for it.
Honestly they have the right to question it. No one can claim to be an expert in a field and just be immediately believed on an internet forum. It mean's piss-all. That doesn't just mean YOU though so dont take it the wrong way. There are a few OTHER examples here as well (wont name names)
