magic enhanced blind side: works with spells <can you make it for me>CON/THM makes less sense than CON/GLA in my opinion.
THM is all about offensive magic and the power of destruction. CNJ is more about life and defensive spells.
There's more synergy between a CON and a GLA than a CON and a THM.
Seems to me like people think of THM automatically just because it's the only other mage class.
Also, same can be said for BLM = THM/PGL. Both THM and PGL utilize elements offensively - one by harnessing powerful spells, while the other through a more physical incarnation. Having a job that is much more about destruction unlocked by a sub class that's all about defense and preservation makes less sense.
I'm sure we'll understand much more about why they went with the setup they did when we are actually doing the job quests. Lots of lore for the jobs to be added no doubt.
Ty for that table, now to get my PC fixed before patch 1.21![]()

after reading some of this post, i'm kinda disappointed. i thought it was going to be similar to ffxi, like starting your new job from level 1. too bad for all those level 50s out there.
Too bad why? Last isn't grinding more classes/jobs that makes the job more enjoyable lol

I'm so excited! Now I know what I have to do to meet the requirements. Gotta start working on my Archer level and start up Conjurer.
My personal belief is that the secondary classes listed are intended to contribute something by way of abilities to the "Job".
To me, Featherfoot on BLM makes total sense. The "Keep away from me mentality" that Naoki Yoshida was describing along with why they decided to implement stationary casting. If a mob gets close to a BLM, Featherfoot is a good defensive skill to use to try and absorb a hit while also giving MP back.
Blindside on Dragoon I imagine would be something good to have too to help push damage up just that bit more. And Second Wind adds a bit to it's survivability.
Warrior requires GLA because Warrior is designed as a Tank DD hybrid. Most all the new abilities that Warrior gets has to deal with taking damage or having hate for it's full potential. Having early GLA abilities helps this.
MNK having lancer would allow both Blood for Blood and Invigorate, something I think a MNK could use really well.
BRD needing CNJ would allow Protect and Cure to help enhance their support role.
CNJ with PLD does the same thing with self heals.
The only one I find slightly confusing is WHM needing GLA. I don't really see GLA giving anything straight forward to WHM to help it along, unless part of WHM's passive bonuses gives Flash the blind effect as well (Like flash in XI) or defensive options with the shield but I'm not sure.
Also something I wonder is: as jobs expand per quest, do the abilities you can pull from the secondary class expand as well. If so, how far. Will BRd be able to use stoneskin as well? Does MNK get Keen flurry?
All speculation of course. Thinking about it does make my excited though.

Serenity seem to hit it exactly, as this is my thoughts too. Only think I can think is that GLA would be beneficial for WHM for stuff like Sentinel, Aegis Boon, etc. I wonder if they will have GLA ws's too, to perhaps help them solo? Atleast sentinel would definatley be beneficial though.
My goal is to get my Blue Mage Thread seen by Yoshida!
Support the thread and its idea! - http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/333552-FFXIV-Blue-Mage-Could-It-Work-I-think-it-can...-and-here-s-how%21
Remember! #bluemagexiv!
You guys looking into the second class req to much lol, it's just there to unlock the job that's it.
Guys remember that paladin has a move or spell that heals itself and 50%of the parties. Or vice versa which makes perfect sense. having said that white mage leveling gladiator makes less sense but we will all know soon enough.
