30 CNJ + 15 THM = WHM
30 THM + 15 CNJ = BLM

Yah, I would've thought that they'd use Conjurer + Thaumaturge combinations for White Mage and Black Mage, but then I remembered the earlier interview with Yoshida-san in Famitsu CONNECT-ON Magazine, where he might use it for Red Mage:

時期については明言できないが、特定の二つのクラスを一定ランクまであげると取得できる、複合ジョブも用意する。たとえば、幻術士と呪術士を両方育てると赤魔導士といった展開もあり得る。
Although the time is unknown, they are planning to have "combined job" which is obtained by two specified class over specified rank. For example, CON + THM = Red Mage.

I know it was only an example that he gave (and not confirmation), but it sounds like they'd save that combination for Red Mage (or some other mage).

It is easy to understand. PLD and GLA levels up in parallel with each other. The only difference is that you have to quest to unlock pld gear, abilities and spells.

The simple and direct answer to your question is:

When on a job, any experience points earned go directly to the class the job belongs to (ie. when playing as a PLD in a large grind party, all the experience you earn will go to GLA.)

since job traits are listed under job abilities ( class reform topic )
