Congestion is due to people preordering and trying to play Endwalker content during early access.

What? No, this didn't start till early access. It's interesting how all the "fixes" don't start till official launch. They can run on "well, it's early access, the game isn't officially out yet". The same crap 343 did with Halo Infinite. "It's in beta".

My point was, the congestion would start when 6.0 dropped, no matter if it was "early access" or "normal release".

We just had a weekend to play the expansion instead of it dropping on a weekday. They've done it this way since heavensward.

This is probably the most botched launch I can remember in a long time.

Really? Like, no servers have crashed. The game is fairly bug free. The only real issue is capacity and the login server. That's it. I'd hardly call that the most botched game launch in recent histroy. Fallout 76, New World killing GPUs, etc, etc.

They did not start implementing fixes, till today.

Of course they aren't crashing when people aren't able to get in.

If you don't think the incentives don't outweight the inconvenience then don't pre-order, it's that simple. FFXIV is a game you take your time in, you don't get a prize for finishing MSQ quicker than anyone else.

If you don't want to wait in queue then wait a few weeks. As I said above there is no prize for finishing FFXIV quicker than anyone else.
