You are not guaranteed to play on day one. No game is. You agreed to it in the EULA you signed when you hit Play.
This is like the New World forums all over again. SE and Yoshi-P do their best and people still poo-poo all over them.
Your best bet is to get on Steam and look at the info there. Refund policies for MMOs and pre-orders might be different than other games.

You did not pay for early access you paid for Endwalker. The game does not actually launch til the 7th.
if you preorder your given early access otherwise everyone would just buy the game after launch. If i knew I would constantly get kicked out of a 5000 person que after I got under 1000 I would definitely not have paid for the game. The actual launh date is early access. There is no such thing as a actual launch date launch was Dec3rd. If launch was not dec 3rd then they would not be still selling preorders for early access.
in short yes, SE promoted early access, if it was a "Bonus" like many here stated then why the preorders and not just leave it as "official release", no, they went and used the early access as way to get the money from "preorders".
An quick example, say you get to preorder an iphone, you pay to have the item before anyone else thats the whole idea, that in the end you'll get the same item as everyone else is a different story , but apple promoted the "early drop", so if they come and cannot fulfill what was promised then it could be labeled as false advertisement , same as here , i understand the frustration of several here but in tge end is just a game, remember that....
Alright since people on this thread are semantic warrior I'll edit the OP.
How do I request a refund for the current month subscription + expansion? I am paying a monthly subscription plus the expansion to be able to play the game whenever I want on the 28-31 days of the month, yet I'm currently unable to do so, whereas free trial accounts who do not pay a subscription are able to.

Free trial accounts who do not pay a subscription are, in fact, not able to play until everyone who pays a subscription has gotten into the game. They are effectively always last in queue, and if someone with a paying subscription enters into the queue the Free trial player will be pushed behind them.Alright since people on this thread are semantic warrior I'll edit the OP.

I do not think subscription fees are refundable. The expansion might be as it officially has not been released. There is a refund option on Steam. Help > Steam Support > Recent Products then select the appropriate options.
Edit: make sure to cancel your subscription on the account management website
