    im actually loving new ast. it feels so much busier than shb ast and i can already feel its going to have huge optimization potential because of how flexible having 2 charges on draw, and being able to use astrodyne whenever is. im really looking forward to raid with it


    Sage is also very fun, IF theres things to heal. Swapping cardia targets for chip damage is fun, but sge gets monotonous otherwise cuz its just dosis spam with some phlegma sprinkled in. Also toxicon desperately needs a damage buff. its extremely underwhelming as is. its not even a "refund" mechanic like afflatus misery because its no different from usind dosis.

    This is incorrect. To get to use Toxicon you need Eukrasia Diagnosis to break; said spell costs 900 MP to use and if it doesn't break you don't get Toxicon for that MP usage. In addition, it takes two GCDs to generate and use one Toxicon; divide the potency by 2 to get its' true potency.

    On-topic, Sage is feeling quite nice (more DPS options than the other healers if I'm not mistaken) though I have some problems with it as well, namely the typical trait of giving healers PB-AoE spells which puts them at risk of telegraphed attacks targeted at tanks and Toxicon being too weak to justify its' use.

    Because I don't need to swap to a healer job to have eyes, and note that the general gameplay flow hasn't changed? That's my feedback. I've played along with "wait and see! Try it out!" for multiple expansions now. I'm done debating the finer nuances of what slight modifications would maybe make spamming Glare "fun". It's not, and it's nowhere close to it. Squeenix has so thoroughly ignored veteran healer feedback that this is now my feedback: you have successfully killed my interest in suggesting improvements. I always play support classes; this game is the first to chase me away from it.

    As an Astrologian main, I completely dislike what they have done to the job. They added way too many buttons to press for the sake of more RNG and very little reward. There are now three RNG factors; Draw, Seals (for Astrodyne), and Minor Arcana.

    Seals and Astrodyne: It feels lackluster. The chances of you getting all three different seals is very minimal and the speed boost is awful.
    Minor Arcana: It's like the old Astrologian again; no one wants to pull Lady of Crowns when you have to prioritize DPS.
    Draw: I like it. Having two cards ready at the start of the fight feels nice.
    Redraw: Why does it still exist? With the changes to Astrodyne and Divination, it feels so unimportant.

    Landing your cards right should be an Astrologian's priority and part of its DPS rotation. I would totally remove Redraw, Minor Arcana, and possibly Astrodyne or perhaps revert how seals worked in Shadowbringers.

    Toxicon = Ruin II
    Dykrasia = Art of War

    (of course, each spell don't have the very same effect, but that's their equivalent).
    People called Sage having more dps option because Square introduced it as the "officialy recognized healer who has dps and healing working together", but he doesn't have more dps option.

    We could argue about AST as well... (but bigger cooldown on it, and share healing on its dps action)

    Now that Earthy Star got bigger and more potency, minor arcana being reworked and macrocosmos...

    Fall Malefic, Comust II, Gravity II, Earthly Star, Minor Arcana, macrocosmos.

    Got SGE to 90 and finished the MSQ with it.

    Currently leveling AST.

    I am surprised how much I enjoy both of them. My main complain with healers is the Nuke spam, but these two somehow feel rather busy.

    SGE is fun in dungeon pulls where the use of AoE rotation makes the DPS engaging. Pre - applying shields on the tank to while they gather mobs then unloading Phlegma and Toxikon on the pack of mobs is fun and satisfying, and the lack of gear and experience of tanks keeps me on my toes.

    I am surprised by how much having to go through Eukrasia changes the FEEL of the job.

    On bosses, it is indeed Dosis spam, but playing around with positioning, Phlegma and movement tools Icarus and Toxkion is also quite fun.


    AST feels even busier than ever. I find Astrodyne quite interesting even if the changes to the redraw system are imo a big negative. I hate having to sit on seals once I have the three different ones because I don't want to risk a full Astrodyne before I align it with Divination. Or redrawing a card and getting the same seal again.

    Having 2 draws is great though.

    In terms of healing, It works, as it used to pretty much. I do love the new Exaltation? ability. Feels great to use on pulls and tankbusters. And the enormous Earthly star is fantastic. I am surprised at how many damage options we have now with AST, setting an Earthly Star, getting lucky with Lord of Crownd and Astrodyne+Divinatiom feels fantastic. Lots of weaving, lots of numbers flying around. That is, when RNG is on your side ofc.

    Fair point, only Phelgma and Toxicon are AOE (although Toxicon is a weak one for the effort acquiring its' resource) whereas the two you've put with them are single target.

    Good god, what WHM got is so bad. SCH too to an extent but I can't argue how much the Broil cast reduction has helped the flow of the job.

    But WHM, jesus. No job deserves this bore. Why is Liturgy of the Lilly a 180cd, it should be 90s at worst. WHM got barely anything interesting, and what they got can be used so seldomly it barely leaves a lasting impact on the player.

    Been leveling some WHM on the side just in case, via fates. Noticing I'm running out of mana in a minute just spamming glare which is hilariously bad, IMO
