    6.0 Healer Feedback Thread

This is probably a futile exercise given how we do things over here in the NA forums but nonetheless, it is worth a shot. I'll try and have this thread as where this where we should try to have the feedback for Endwalker healer changes and experiences be to try and consolidate them all for an easier read rather than just making thread after thread in haste.

Granted, my own experiences have been just limited to the leveling process and are just limited to one healer at the moment, that healer being WHM. As of there, it has two extremes at the moment that I have noticed. If a tank is regularly using their cds and a regen is kept up on them, it's the same as usual as it was back in stormblood and shadowbringers. However, the moment those cooldowns are over, they take a rather drastic amount of damage where it doesn't feel bad to use cure 2. That being said, given the new vaules, a cure 2 restores like 40-50 percent of their hp outside of a crit.

On the Damage side, while single target dps feels more fluid with the new cast time (with the exception of Asylum since you still have to place it down) the aoe since it still just as clunky to weave but again this is just the leveling dungeon experience as of now.

To be honest, I prefer individual threads anyways. Search engines have a much harder time with megathreads and often can't give meaningful results from them. And having individual threads for various topics helps promote discussion around those topics, while a megathread with many things at once and people coming and going just to drop a post that may have nothing to do with the ongoing discussion... well, it makes it much harder to really have a discussion.

Megathreads seem self defeating to having threads in the first place and IMO are really a bane on older-style forums.

I've only played SGE so far. I figured I'd spend my first day seeing how far I could level and see if I like it and I got it to level 80.

I can only give first impressions so far, because it's still the honeymoon period and it's too early to rate it in relation to what my pre-6.0 concerns have been.

I like how SGE heals and I have enjoyed the experience thus far.
    Positives I note:
    - I feel encouraged to actually shield heal. Compared to 5.0 SCH where you could heal more efficiently with your oGCD's. So far, my oGCD's haven't felt like enough and I can use my shields to help
    - Being able to "detonate" shields is a good idea, Pepsis is better than Emergency Tactics because of this. Emergency Tactics + Succor mean your co-healer might have topped off the party members by the time you've finished the maneuver and it feels wasted.
    - I like the Eukrasia mechanic, I like being able to augment abilities, it's something I liked about FFXI SCH and something I liked about old Dark Knight (and miss).
    - How Eukrasia Prognosis/Diagnosis works is great for mobility and incentives me to use it over a non-Eukrasia one
    - I like how Toxicon is built, it's another shield incentive, and it doesn't feel wasted.
    - I like there's multiple DPS abilities, the AoE game is pretty good and has made trash pulls more engaging than SCH's Art of War spam.
    - I've felt busier so far.

A few things I would improve on so far:
    - The AoE's don't feel like they flow well into each other. I feel like Toxicon might work better as an oGCD.
    - Maybe increase the AoE range of some DPS abilities...it's less of a problem in dungeons, but I guess this is a product of me doing FATEs and Bozja/Zadnor to level it.
    - There still Dosis spamming

    Where I still have concerns:
    - How it will handle it feel when the honeymoon period is over and how healer downtime feels, how big it is a SGE and how make SGE managed to break it up. This is a "time will tell" thing, because this is dependent on the stat squish and getting it into content and getting over the period of "ooh shiny shiny" and getting better at playing the job.

Regardless, I definitely like it as a healer, so they are positive first impressions. I'll no doubt come back when I've had more than a day with it.

Still a terrible, boring exercise in spamming 1 button too much.

I agree with everything but Toxicon. I feel like it's a waste most of the time outside of heavy movement fights. As said in another thread, it's built up like Afflatus Misery but in reality it's just Ruin II with net neutral dps.

I just feel like i'm missing something about it, because I don't see why I would use it over Dosis for Single Target (outside of heavy movement) or Dyskrasia for AOE.

My "waste" comment is more to the using a shield to get it. But I agree with you, I was going to make a comment about how it has no benefit over Dosis as I have before when looking at the tooltips, but my mentioning of making Toxicon an oGCD would be a solution.

I think the way to address is either:
    - Make Toxicon more powerful for the first target to benefit single target use
    - Make a single target equivalent of Toxicon that is advantageous over Dosis
    - Make it an oGCD so you can weave it.

IMHO I think having it as an oGCD would help it flow better at the same time.

Only played sage up to 76 so far. I cant stand grinding for long stretches of time so its been exp optimisation from me. Not even reached Sharlayan

    Positives
    -front loaded kit
    -gap closer is beautiful
-I can feel the difference most of the buffs make unlike most jobs nowadays (1% woo /s)
-eukrasia reminds me of hw dark arts
    -good variety of weapon designs
-resource based healing with at least a minor level of thought required
    -good tutorial

    negatives
    -still 1 button spam
-mp issues on some fights because I don't need to heal and thus dont get mp from spamming dosis/dykrasia
-Toxikon is a loss to use
-Counter intuitive design- you don't want to crit your eukrasian diagnosis because that makes toxikon less likely to proc
-Plays like sch should have in shb and ew rather than anything new
-More heals are redundant as you level
-Rhizomata does not grant an addersting

    subjective
-Too flashy vfx, i cant see sometimes (I like playing more zoomed in when solo or in light parties)
-Clearly overpowered for new healers and to advertise new job
-AF gear is more robes (love the na,e of the 70 set though, fit my au ra perfectly)
    -decent class quests

    Overall healers
-the core issue of spamming glare/broil/malefic/dosis MUST be addressed
-healers are still blatantly overtuned for levels of damage in all 80 and below content
-Still too many robes and not enough armour (I have been crafting)
-Jobs still disconnected from lore and established playstyles
-Jobs still homogenised to a terrible degree

SCH is fully capable of healing almost anything.

That being said, with Fey Blessing removing the Fairy Gauge cost, the ONLY spender is Fey Union, so what's the point of the fairy gauge anymore?

The gauge itself takes way too long to fill.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

Sage feels good from a raw healing perspective. A lot of tools for a lot of situations, all of which feel potent.

Damage rotation-wise. It does not feel good to have to come in for Phlegma, and outside of phlegma it's still pretty much a 1 button rotation. Toxicon feels useless as well.

Eukrasia feels weird, and like it should be off the GCD for what it is.

WHM and SCH feel like they always have. I have not put a lot of time into AST, just haven't been in the mood, but wowwy they sure did increase the radius of earthly star, there's no not standing in that anymore.

Fey Union, you said it yourself.

The gauge fills at a reasonable pace and it's a non-issue really, as there is no skill you unlocks/gets stronger at 100 fairy gauge anyway.
