    so i've realized we're kinda just a worse version of ninja, sam, and dragoon thrown together. beast chakra (3 skills to make another) being like mudra (2-3 buttons to make a skill) except ninja has more options like single target, aoe, dot. then you get your 2 nadi plus 3 beast chakras similar to sam getting there 3 sen, but sam has a single target, dot, and aoe. and after seeing the math in this thread we do about 30% positionals and dragoon does about 50%.

    Eh, I chose MNK over the other melee DPS due to:
    -SAM having horrible button bloat.
    -NIN not jiving with my class fantasy.
    -DRG having stupid long skill chains that aren't fun to map out on my hotbars.
    -RPR being oversaturated with new players.

    Ages ago the devs of Starwars Galaxies tried this. They made huge changes to the classes and the game, they made everything faster and easier. For some reason they appealed newcomers to jump into the game. But for any newcomer 2 vets left the game.

    SE shouldn´t mess up with a loyal playerbase by taking everything away they loved about the gameplay.

    The thing is, this games gameplay isn't the highlight of it. WoW gameplay wise and definitely for how core gameplay feels, responsiveness, variety etc. Is still miles ahead of FF14. Lets not get it twisted, for every 2 vets that leave they will be replaced with 4 new players. The casuals will most certainly not go anywhere now too.

    I really don't like the new Twin Snakes icon, it's harder to see and blends in imo.
    I feel the same about the new SAM ones too..

    It´s no excuse to dumb it down again and again with each patch. We had once a lot of more utility and management with positionals and ressources on any class. Pretty much everything is gone for some braindead button clicks. Hell they even get ride of DoT management and oGCD´s but we still stuck on 2,5s GCD time.

    It´s not only "now". They won´t go because a class changes, because they´re not really interested in the gameplay. They look at some visuals and want a well-looking character, that´s it. To make classes more braindead doesn´t change anything since they will continue to ignore everything which is not a highlighted combo. It doesn´t make sense to cater ppl who don´t care anyway. Nothing against visual upgradres to appeal the masses, but gameplay-wise the game is going nuts once again.

    As i´ve said, i´m sure even you will come to the point to call MNK stale and boring. You´ve nothing to do, nothing to real care about. Even blitz has celestial as a safe-skill if you missclick, meanwhile 3 other button on the class are still useless and the new autoattack skill is absolutely trash. Just an afk buff.

    What about the Chakra system?
    It's the same.

    If you're talking about the new Blitz system then it really wouldn't be overkill at all and it's something that happens with long intervals.

    MNK right now feels to me like the easiest and least fun melee Job, the downtime is just gruesome without the positionals keeping you on your toes and making it more engaging.
    I really do not believe that the devs will stick with this long-term.

    I wouldn´t believe into anything. SE has shown multiple times that they´re able to crash classes and leave them as they´re. Just have a look at tanks or MCH as the latest examples.
    Imo i don´t even get why they got ride of GL with 5.3, when they shit on everything which made MNK a MNK now.

    Even then, though, the floor and the ceiling are two very, very different things. And these changes impacted the floor hardly at all compared to the ceiling (with the exception of perhaps positionals on Leaden Fist).

    Those 20-potency-differed positionals mattered nothing to those happy to do only half, or at most two-thirds, their potential damage. But they did allow for far more apm and engagement for those who cared to bother with them.
