This is the thing though, I think it would be great if that was an option, but it's not because all of the healers suffer from the same fundamental problems. It's fine for people who don't mind, but if they just made that philosophy account for 1 job and have the remaining 3 satisfy different types of healer players then it'd be a lot easier to do this. It used to be that they kinda did.

However, people seem to end up under the misapprehension that they want healer jobs to be DPS therefore they should play DPS, which is not the case. To think this is a gross misunderstanding of why people are complaining.

And as inhaledcorn says, the OP isn't satisfied with the jobs as they are. The OP is pretty confused and pretty self-contradictory in places, on the one hand they argue against improving the DPS because they think it'll be bad for newbies (and claims 15 to 22 buttons....and later 25 for DPS even though nobody has asked for this) and then on the other they're very much for increasing the healing requirements to make it harder to cut down that downtime, which will make it harder for newbies. At least DPS is optional in everything that isn't at the higher end of content, healing is not.

And personally I've been a fan of a "little of column A, a little of column B" approach, because I think DPS can be more engaging in our downtime, downtime happens, why not do something with it? Especially when it comes to solo content and lower end content, which in fairness /should/ be easier, which would mean healers who get it in a roulette aren't bored and healers who are new aren't struggling. Then in content that's less easy, it can be balanced to require more healing. When we have people posting 50-70% downtime on Savage and EX it's not a good balance for people whose desire is to heal.
