Nearly all of these are outlined in earlier posts in this thread (one of the things I hate about this discussion is the same arguments get hashed over and over again)
Improved loading times and performance for lower end computers. Less models and textures equals less RAM demands.
Easier identification of others jobs. Once you remove this problem it gets rid of the excuse that jobs need identifiable and restricted sets so it creates the case that glamours should be free for all and not class/job restricted.
Customizable experiences for those who wish to enjoy the story without their cutscenes and world being full of clowns, half naked people, and color clashing nightmares allowing more engagement with the story and your character.

The idea we'd go from "please let me normalize other PCs on my screen" to "sharia law enforcement" (yeah you're not being subtle) is again an incredibly hyperbolic slippery slope. They allowed both genders to marry whomever in the game, we are not asking for a feature to marry our minions now.

Most people in this thread DO agree it's not NEEDED (though keep in mind this forum is a % of a % of the game population) . But it would be nice. Ignoring everyone however who would like it is just being closed minded because you don't personally care about it.

I can and I will. But I support this idea. Again it's not needed and the game can live without it. Never said any different. However just because we could do without something in the past doesn't follow that we shouldn't ever want more or ask for more. You are literally arguing with the boomer mentality (I should know, those were my parents) of "in my day we managed yadda yadda and we were fine!", and that argument is thick-headed as all get out.

Yes but not ALL the problems. Which is what you said. That they need to fix everything before adding ANYTHING new. Let me quote you to show:

But quite provably SE continues to both solve issues and add new things at the same time. This is what a live game service is about. Add new things and work on old problems and slowly improve the game while introducing new content.

It's absolute head-in-the-ground blindness to deny this.

So first and foremost TALKING about a new feature shouldn't be discouraged and arguing that they haven't solved blahblah yet so we shouldn't even consider it is one of the weakest arguments ever.

If you don't like the idea that's fine. Vote no and sleep well in the knowledge that the chances of this being implemented anytime soon let alone ever are likely low. I also will continue to play the game, feature or no, and enjoy it. But like someone who wishes that someday we could have an option to ask for an uber driver who won't try to talk to us, I can continue to discuss it and would like to do so without someone raving about absolute nonsense overblown fearmongering and ignorance about what's actually entailed in making it happen.

    NO to this "feature".

    Because:
    1. SE doesnt add immersion breaking glamours or gearsets. That means, any combination of gear doesnt break immersion either.
    2. it doesnt improve performance or loading times, because characters still need to be loaded.
    3. its needs to fix old systems first before adding new features/options/etc. Otherwise its a waste of time and resources.
    4. glamours never affect your gameplay. They are just glamours.
    5. hopefully, SE still ignoring these forums.
    6. there is no problem at all.

Feel free to "argue" about my points, but I wont continue talking to a wall.

funny.. I was feeling the same way since you haven't addressed any of the points I mentioned even though I carefully replied to everything you said and will answer and repeat:

    1. SE doesnt add immersion breaking glamours or gearsets. That means, any combination of gear doesnt break immersion either.

What SE adds to their game is considered Canon. However when you're playing an RPG, part of that fun is making up your own story and immersing yourself in playing it out. That's what people are talking about. Not canon lore, IMMERSION into their experience. You can play a merchant who only cares about money, you can be a cruel sellsword adventurer who only is out for their own good, you can be a do gooder saint who helps everyone who asks, it's up to the player to interpret the game. If something ruins that experience it is breaking immersion. Please learn the difference.

    2. it doesnt improve performance or loading times, because characters still need to be loaded.

Just wrong. Loading fixed models and textures for everyone of a certain race/job means less is loaded into memory, meaning it loads quicker and has more memory to deal with other things. This is basic game programming. One asset multiplied a hundred times is more memory efficient than one hundred different assets loaded once.

    3. its needs to fix old systems first before adding new features/options/etc. Otherwise its a waste of time and resources.

They already don't wait to fix old things before adding new things. Again provably this has been the case since the beginning. Again just wrong.

    4. glamours never affect your gameplay. They are just glamours.
They affect my enjoyment and engagement with the game. As mentioned before they also technically affect performance.

    5. hopefully, SE still ignoring these forums.
you know that means you too right?

    6. there is no problem at all.
You might want to bring your head up for air once in a while. All that dirt on top of it is bad for you.

You still don't seem to get the part where being in the game doesn't mean it looks OK to everybody in every scenario eh?

I just wanted to address your last portion of your statement I know you were speaking to Caitlyn but we are able to examine each other so you can see if that person wearing a bikini or speedo in a dungeon is geared properly. What exactly are people doing when they q for a random dungeon? The way dungeons are speed ran how are is anyone able to rp while doing them? Normally if you are rping you are doing that with a group of like minded individuals not in a random dungeon or publicly crowded area. So again this option isn't really needed I feel it's a waste of time and resource.

What am I doing? Running the instance like a sane person. You know what I'd like though? The first time I run something and am paying attention to the story or the 5th time I'm re-running it to brush up on the story not having to deal with the butt-floss wonder moogle in all the cutscenes and battles.

Rp-ing isn't just pretending with a group of friends, it's a matter of getting into the game and reacting to the story and events as they happen and thinking about what your character that you've fleshed out in your mind would do and playing as such. You don't need to talk, you don't need to have complex emotes setup. You just need to be thinking about how that story makes you feel and how your character feels and be immersed in the moment.

You're making the same mistake here thinking that this happens and I tear my hair out and cry. No.. I sigh and resign myself to being yanked out of the deeper possible experience by someone elses choices because I have no recourse and the story is just a part of playing the game.

I can play the game just fine but it would enhance my experience to have the option

    Got it now?

It's not needed. It will never be needed. Just like 100 other things we got that make the game more fun for some people it's not essential for the game to continue.

But it would be nice and I'd like to see it happen and will continue to explain to those who spread ignorant misinformation and false conjecture and hyperbolic flim-flammery what the actual benefits and likely costs or issues may be and what we could do about them.

I'm well aware you think this option is a waste of time and resources since you don't want it, but keep in mind there are hundreds and thousands of people who think the same things about stuff you enjoy that they don't play or use.

I have to ask why exactly do you have such a disdain for such an option. I get you listed your reasons but at the core it seems far deeper then what you have listed. Just seems more personal then anything.

Apparently they need to be validated in game and want people to wear what they want but then made a passing but very obvious statement about headscarfs as a negative.

So the person is a look at me person and vouches for choice yet when it comes to headscarfs its a no (to which was brought out of no where mind you), yeeeeeeeeeee this person should be ignored in game and irl.

Quite a few of the arguments against this option (or hell the DISCUSSION of the option itself) do seem to come from a place of being perturbed that someone somewhere might not see their character how they want them to, which seems like a pointless thing to get emotional about when mods and the game's own graphical settings exist. What if someone is playing with reshade or bad light settings and that makes their character look less than optimal on that person's screen? Do they break out in a cold sweat? What about lewd mods? You'd think with that visceral level of hatred for this idea that they'd never leave their inn room or something.

Yes I'm being a bit hyperbolic but that seems to be the flavor of disagreement folks are offering right now.

I can understand making your character look the way you want and that it is personal expression but I do that for me alone and not to impress people, especially in a multiplayer online game where you know someone may be seeing something different than you.
