You asked what the benefit was for them to do this and I gave you one, even if it was a more cynical view on why they might have done it.

If a company sees a benefit in accommodating a request from paying customers that doesn't take a ton of work and doesn't impact their own vision too much, and might even earn them MORE money, then they will do it.
